For my job, I come in contact with many people from states where masking is maybe not "mandatory" but heavily and socially encouraged.
The people ask me if they have to wear a mask, and I say no, this is Texas, and I would say the vast majority basically say, thank God.
No, but now that the weather is turning colder here in Michigan it does keep the face warmer :)
I’m in southeast Michigan - seems to be about 50/50. I don’t wear one and nobody has said anything. That last time somebody did it was when I entered an airport terminal - it was one of those “ugh....back to insanity” moments. You’re going to require me to wear a mask the entire time yet pack me into an aircraft that is 100% full and yet I can take it off if I go into a restaurant.
Frikkin genius.
Now they want us to lift a mask up and down between bites on the plane. So if I am sick and don’t know it I’m touching a biohazard dozens of times and then contaminating everything that I tough.
Frikkin genius.
I’m in Northern California. I wear a mask into stores and restaurants when they require it - their property, their rules. Outside and in my home, I don’t wear any masks. No one has bothered me about that.
A couple weeks ago a store assistant manager (grocery store) approached me with a paper mask and told me the health department required I wear it. I told her I would rather drive the extra mile and shop in Orange County and walked out leaving my shopping cart there in the aisle. I was one of three people in the store without a mask. Haven’t been back since.
I moved my son to Texas back in October. I spent a week there in literally forgot Covid was an issue.
No, not in a long time. I still have to wear one at work.
Walked into a Shop & Save, and was astounded by the number of people not wearing a mask in Tom Wolfe PA.
I have not been talked to about wearing a mask for the last couple of months.
I still carry one around, but I don’t seem to have to pull it out hardly ever - maybe never anymore, come to think of it.
I have seen some folks (ladies maybe more) start out with a mask, and then just take it off after a while, when the see that most people are not wearing masks, and don’t seem to care about it.
The social pressure sure does seem less intense.
Very few have worn them here in the last year. Most did when the scam first started, including me, but we are over it. Nothing is closed. The only places still requiring them are doctor’s offices. My dentist doesn’t require them and he says no way he’s taking the vax. Some of the hygienists took the vax but he didn’t force any of them. My skin cancer office doesn’t require them either and hasn’t for over a year.
I am getting really sick and tired of all of this. I can tell who the sheep are when I see them outdoors wearing masks or driving alone in their cars with a mask on.
If anyone confronts me for not wearing a mask, I have something special for them.
No. In fact, I cannot recall anyone doing so during this silliness. Then again, I live in a blood-red part of a Red State.
No, but I’m in Texas. Realized early on that the mask wearing was actually just psychological prophylaxis. I believe it’s actually harmful to the socialization of younger children in schools. That said, I do believe that face/hand washing is helpful, especially now that flu season is upon us. But that is just common sense.
I haven’t had anyone say anything here in eastern TN. Except that I do wear mine at the doctor’s office, but that’s the only place. I expect they’d kick me out without one so don’t bother to object.
No, when I wear one if the property owner requires.
No, not at any time. South central Kansas.
I went to the grocery store yesterday. It was the first day of Gruesome’s new mask mandate. The signs were not in Spanish, so I ignored them. So did most of the people in the store. The employees were all masked up, but the customers were mostly not. The citizens are ignoring the new mandate. The stores are not enforcing it.
No, but I divide my time between the Free States of Kentucky and Florida.
Nope, nobody’s said a peep. I am surprised at the number of people wearing them though.
Now living in TN and not one person has said a word or even given me the hairy eyeball for being maskless. I love it here.
Same here in Placer County ... part of California’s free sector, where crossing into adjacent Sacramento County conjures up thoughts of traveling from West Berlin into East Berlin back in the day ... with lots of mask bullies about ready to make demands on people they don’t know.
