I wanted to follow up on some topics from Dr. Ellsperman’s Town Hall last week. As we prepare for a new year and a new semester, we know that the COVID-19 virus will continue to be with us, even as its form and the options for preventing and treating it change. Our past policies and preparations have served us well, keeping our students and our faculty and staff as safe as possible under the circumstances. And now as the pandemic moves into an “endemic” phase, it’s becoming clearer that this virus is here to stay.

I still think we should have had Covid parties, like chickenpox parties years ago. Get everybody infected let them get it, build up the immunity and move on.

Don’t forget to thank Fazi. He funded the Fauci Flu using your/our tax money. (BTW, is he still alive? Hope not but I’m afraid so. When oh when is that glorious day coming?!)

Seems like a branching point, but which branch —
COVID is here to stay. It will never leave us. And so we must:
a) Get back to normal, accept illness and death as an inevitable part of life on Earth, and just carry on as we did before COVID-19.
or
b) Realize that we can never be normal again, prepare for permanent lockdown and mask use, mandate boosters for young and old every three months for the next few generations, and realize that all our days of freedom and peace of mind are now behind us.

That’s what ‘endemic’ normally means. It is accepted as here to stay.
That’s not what all the politicians (some of whom have doctors degrees, but they are politicians first) mean by endemic. What they mean is more akin to “the new normal”. In other words, executive mandates are endemic

“Endemic” means limited to a particular area or region, certainly less drastic than “pandemic.”
Is this somehow ‘bad’ news or just indicative of regions where the koolaid has been drunk more completely?

Of course it’s endemic, and one only wishes it had become endemic sooner. Stop the nonsense already, and the shots and the Fauci follies, day in day out.

I agree with you. The children were the key. They could have saved us a lot of grief. We knew from the beginning that children rarely knew they even had it. We could have reached herd immunity quickly.
We saw the curve drop to almost zero...

Sounds like with this new OMG-Con variety it is time to party on.

Endemic to all-too-many species is what they mean. The deer population is harboring covid. As if those overgrown rats weren’t dangerous enough on our dimly lit roads.

Well its been obvious it was going to be endemic for about two years. Like the common cold or flu there is no way to stop that short of absolute isolation from all other humans. About everything done to mitigate it has made things worse...except for the bank accounts of certain corrupt interests.
To: AndyTheBear
And those of us with a BRAIN knew this. BUT WARP SPEED and Trumps constant yakking about the vaxx caused many to think it was going to CURE it...
