I wanted to follow up on some topics from Dr. Ellsperman’s Town Hall last week. As we prepare for a new year and a new semester, we know that the COVID-19 virus will continue to be with us, even as its form and the options for preventing and treating it change. Our past policies and preparations have served us well, keeping our students and our faculty and staff as safe as possible under the circumstances. And now as the pandemic moves into an “endemic” phase, it’s becoming clearer that this virus is here to stay.

I still think we should have had Covid parties, like chickenpox parties years ago. Get everybody infected let them get it, build up the immunity and move on.

Seems like a branching point, but which branch —
COVID is here to stay. It will never leave us. And so we must:
a) Get back to normal, accept illness and death as an inevitable part of life on Earth, and just carry on as we did before COVID-19.
or
b) Realize that we can never be normal again, prepare for permanent lockdown and mask use, mandate boosters for young and old every three months for the next few generations, and realize that all our days of freedom and peace of mind are now behind us.

“Endemic” means limited to a particular area or region, certainly less drastic than “pandemic.”
Is this somehow ‘bad’ news or just indicative of regions where the koolaid has been drunk more completely?

Of course it’s endemic, and one only wishes it had become endemic sooner. Stop the nonsense already, and the shots and the Fauci follies, day in day out.

Well its been obvious it was going to be endemic for about two years. Like the common cold or flu there is no way to stop that short of absolute isolation from all other humans. About everything done to mitigate it has made things worse...except for the bank accounts of certain corrupt interests.

The coronaviruses have been around for an estimated 55 million years. Man’s probably had it for at least 100,000 years. We can’t get rid of it and it can’t get rid of us.

Endemic.
And they’re loving it. Anyone and entity cash-in in.

WHAT IS A PANDEMIC?
A pandemic is when a disease’s growth is exponential. This means growth rate skyrockets, and each day cases grow more than the day prior.
In being declared a pandemic, the virus has nothing to do with virology, population immunity, or disease severity. It means a virus covers a wide area, affecting several countries and populations.
WHAT IS AN ENDEMIC?
An endemic is a disease outbreak that is consistently present but limited to a particular region. This makes the disease spread and rates predictable.
Malaria, for example, is considered an endemic in certain countries and regions.

Thanks!
A PANDEMIC is an epidemic that’s spread over multiple countries or continents. ENDEMIC is something that belongs to a particular people or country. AN OUTBREAK is a greater-than-anticipated increase in the number of endemic cases.Apr 2, 2020

I think it will be formally an endemic when Omicron takes over.

Emphasizing that I am not medically trained, Professor Sucharit Bhakdi has also effectively indicated that CV19 natural immunity has likewise been endemic (my word) since middle of year.

Endemic? Coronaviruses have been around for thousands of years.
This propaganda is like calling the Flu endemic...or chicken pox.
