THIS IS A NON-CERTIFIED CHANNEL. Roku requires all channels to abide by Roku’s terms and conditions, and to distribute only legal content. Roku does not test or review non-certified channels. You acknowledge you are accessing a non-certified channel that may include content that is offensive or inappropriate for some audiences. Moreover, if Roku determines that this channel violates copyright, contains illegal content, or otherwise violates Roku’s terms and conditions, then ROKU MAY REMOVE THIS CHANNEL WITHOUT PRIOR NOTICE, AND YOUR ACCOUNT MAY BE BLOCKED FROM ADDING ANY OTHER NON-CERTIFIED CHANNELS.
I wonder how long it will take for web browsers to follow suit.
Or ISPs blocking. I’m sure it’s coming.
It’s for our own good, don’t cha know.
But on the bright side, you can still get all the p0rn you need.
That’s the warning I got from Roku for adding BitChute to my Roku channel list.
I’ve gotten this message before on ROKU when adding a (what is called) “Secret” or “private” Roku Channels. I think it’s autogenerated if you add a private channel that has not yet been officially certified by Roku.
I wonder how long it will take for web browsers to follow suit. (Now that’s a very good point and great question).
I don’t know much about Roku, as I never had one, but I remember years back people telling me that it was a great device to get any and all of the streaming services in one. Smart. But this suggests to me to the beginning of the flattening of their growth curve. These places go corporate and worry more about losses and liabilities than support. Someone else is always willing to be the better way
They have no limits on allowing unapproved streams.
It’s the best way to go, really.
Most devices do that... Amazon Fire Sticks allow you to stream any service.
Any noncertified channel will get that warning on Roku. That is any channel not part of its official channel store. Doesn’t necessarily mean it is blocked.
I tried adding the BitChute channel before - it was actually not done by BitChute itself and it never worked.
That’s why I never bought their device after they banned infowars.
I didn’t know you there was such a thing as a non certified channel on Roku. I thought you used their lineup of channels and that’s it.
Can you install Kodi on your Roku box?
Looks like you can; https://duckduckgo.com/?q=install+Kodi+on+Roku
Then you can install Bitchute on Kodi; https://duckduckgo.com/?q=kodi+bitchute+addon
Plus you can install other Kodi addons for free content; https://kodi.tv/addons/
NASA TV, PlutoTV, Crackle, PopcornFlix, TED Talks, New Yankee Workshop, Vimeo, Youtube, WSJ Live, Weather forecasts by weather.gov aka NOAA
There are tons of other Kodi addons made by third parties that are not legal.
These ISPs have no problem streaming the most hideous porn. But unauthorized opinions? Das ist verboten!
That’s unfortunate. We were looking to replace all of our aging Amazon FireTV devices with Roku. I guess that’s out the window now.
Anyway of doing this via a smart tv?
Same with me as well. Unopened and unused. Will remain so now.
Side load and go
Search for Kodi in apps.
I had never heard of BitChute before, so I went to Wikipedia. Here is their opening sentence:
“BitChute is a video hosting service launched by Ray Vahey in January 2017.[1] It is known for accommodating far-right individuals and conspiracy theorists, and for hosting hate speech.[a][b] Some creators who use BitChute have been banned from YouTube; some others crosspost content to both platforms or post more extreme content only to BitChute.[2][15] BitChute claims to use peer-to-peer WebTorrent technology for video distribution,[1] though this has been disputed.”
“Or ISPs blocking. I’m sure it’s coming.”
That would be ‘unconstitutional’, according to the idiots here that think Democrat judges actually give a crap about the Constitution.
If you want this country to abide by its Constitution, you will NEVER get there by electing Democrats, regardless of how mad you get at RINOs. And in this case, once they think they have enough control of the courts, they WILL move on the ISPs and phone carriers. BANK ON IT.
