When angry Democrats lashed out over Terry McAuliffe's loss in Virginia last week, they blamed "white supremacy" and racism for Republicans winning, but particularly directed their ire at white suburban moms.
Now, some of those moms are speaking out.
What happened? CNN anchor Pamela Brown sat down with four white suburban moms to understand how President Joe Biden won a greater share of white suburban moms in the 2020 election, but Glenn Youngkin carried a greater share of them last week.
... all four supported Youngkin.
The women said they believe that suburban moms "100%" are the reason Youngkin won, and it boils down to one issue: education. The moms explained that Youngkin's promise to address the education gaps caused by school lockdowns is what won support from moms all across the Old Dominion.
"Our kids are in crisis. The learning loss is real. So we're in a situation where our kids are really far behind, and they need a lot of help. They need a lot of...additional time after school to help catch them up, and they're still not focusing on that," one mom said of the Democratic Party.
Contrary to what Democratic pundits claim, the moms said that critical race theory and COVID-related mandates did not play a role in their decision to support Youngkin.
Another mom explained that Virginia parents were "very angry, during school closures, at the teacher's unions." She said that when McAuliffe brought out American Federation of Teachers president Randi Weingarten on the final day of the campaign, that was the "nail in the coffin."
Another mom said, "Glenn, he listened to us. He met with us. He sent his wife to meet with special education parents. They spent a lot of one-on-one time with parents."

Well gee mom, why don't you focus on that?
Too busy ironing Klan robes according to the media
Everyone knows the best way to get voters on your side is call them racist. Up there with calling them deplorable.
Every election or cycle there’s blow hards talking about how one side us dead kaput over done for.
I remember I was a kid and after Carter on Time magazine writes how the Republican Party would just wither away.
The interview clips I saw said that they weren’t concerned about CRT, that their vote was because schools were closes and kids were behind.
I call CNN Propaganda BS. Parents got off their butts for CRT. If schools are open, why protest now? It is the radical indoctrination of kids and crummy education.
Suburban moms are the ones who do the family budgeting. As gas prices, FOOD prices, home heating fuel prices, clothing prices, and-and-and continue to skyrocket, they’re going to be more firmly than ever in the Trump camp.
Eric Hoffer once pointed out that it’s not the poor who revolt, it’s the middle classes, who remember better times and feel the loss most keenly.
Sometimes people will tell the mass media the “politically correct” answer—that may explain why CRT and perverts in girls bathrooms were not mentioned...
I think the Rats have blown their wad. They can’t sink much lower in their policies. The problem is how long these women remember this crap and will the election process survive the underhanded tactics of the Left.
Just more propaganda from the establishment trying to convince us that it is just the closures and not the anti-white racism and medical totalitarianism.
I am not buying this lie because I talk to real people about it.
And it wasn’t CRT.
That is a problem. As far as I am concerned, if that is not the primary (if not the top 2 reasons) you have no business being a parent.
McAwful was so bad, even the people hired to fake the ballots in his favor screwed him over. :^)
But these people are not:
Who could have imagined that education is an important issue for parents and that being told they have no place in decisions about it would make them a little cranky? I don’t know if it was ideology or pure authoritarian ignorance that made the Dems that stupid but they clearly haven’t learned a thing from it.
