The prop gun that killed cinematographer Halyna Hutchins on a New Mexico movie set had been used by crew members offsite for fun, a new report claims.
The gun, which was fired by Alec Baldwin on the set of the movie “Rust,” may have even been loaded with live rounds when it was used for what was essentially target practice, TMZ reported.
Multiple sources connected to the production of the film told TMZ that the gun was fired at off-the-clock gatherings – which could explain how a live round found its way into the gun’s chamber.
Another source who was on set told the outlet that when cops arrived they found live ammo and blank rounds stored in the same area, where the fatal mix-up could have occurred.

#113. Looks like a future OnlyFans ‘star’.
But she is not the only culpable one here. Baldwin should never have pointed that gun at anyone, let alone pulled the trigger. Like I said, there are three culprits, and two are Baldwin.
Kudos, lol.
Something smells indeed. The more “explanations” we hear, the smellier it becomes. A joke. A threat. Target practice involved. Fast draw. Blanks stored with live rounds. Scabs.
Think about it. Intently sabotage of Alec Baldwin and his film anybody?
Clearly there was criminal negligence, perhaps by multiple people.
I remember that episode. Most of those western had men who served during ww2. The cast of Wagon Train were part of John Ford’s casting crew.
Correct, she is not the only culpable one. That’s why in my original post, I said she was mostly to blame.
He also shares in the blame for not checking the gun himself.
Shooting at the camera may have been a shot directed by the cinematographer or film director.
And if his production company hired an ill-qualified person as their armorer, then that is criminal.
Please provide a link. I only found reference to airsoft products.
Normally when shooting blanks, actors never point the weapon directly at the target. They rehearse aiming at a point off to the side, and then set up the cameras to where it looks like it is shooting directly at the target. And if it was a shot directly at the camera, there would be no one anywhere near the camera.
“I hope for better things than that.”
Such as?

Hannah Gutierrez was the original Armorer for this production. She had just one job to do. She was incompetent and failed spectacularly at her job.
The Union Camera crews were the people fired and replaced, just a few hours before the incident.
There had been multiple previous incidents of hot guns unexpectedly fired by stunt doubles during filming. The crews were very unhappy with safety procedures on the set. And they were not getting paid on time either.
Looks like they got out just before it all hit the fan.
If the reports are true that the guns were used for live fire target practice by unauthorized crew members, then Hannah Gutierrez will probably face criminal charges. She is the obvious fall guy for the killing.
If the reports are true that Baldwin made intemperate remarks after a take, then deliberately aimed the pistol at the director and pulled the trigger, then he should face criminal charges.
There are supposedly video and audio recordings of the incident. And of course, a dozen or so witnesses. It will be difficult for the lawyers to suppress everything, but they will try.
Baldwin probably won't be indicted. He most certainly will lose big money in the civil suits that are coming.
Never mind, here’s one:

I do stand corrected! It makes you wonder why these types of products are not more often used in Hollywood.
The armorer seems like a complete nut job, not that Baldwin comes across as sane, but she comes across as clinical. If you think that Baldwin isn’t banging the help, I have a bridge to sell you. There is are so many old sayings about not to sleep with people you work with you have to be a moron not to heed the advice. Baldwin qualifies as a moron dumb enough not only to violate the rule but to violate it with multiple women on the same set. This whole thing smells of that to me.
Maybe. If she gets into meth.
These children all need to grow up. They cannot be left unsupervised!
Probably because the studios (and some influential individuals in the business) are already “invested” in the real things...and you also have the artiste/nutjob directors with extreme attention to detail, such as when Michael Mann insisted on not only genuine Thompson SMGs for “Public Enemies”, but genuine M1921 examples, that had to be hunted down and refurbished at considerable expense for the project.
True enough I suppose, but most productions don’t require that kind of fidelity to detail. As far as the Thompsons go, a good prop house could’ve reproduced everything in exact detail.
They are real guns. They are called a prop gun....just like anything else used would be a prop.
That’s what I posted at the outset.
Where it was used previously has no bearing on this case whatsoever. This is obfuscation, to move the blame from the shooter to someone else.
