Partial human remains were reportedly located in a Florida nature park where authorities have searched for Brian Laundrie, and a medical examiner has responded to the area, in the search for the fugitive wanted in the Gabby Petito case.
The discovery of remains comes after some items belonging to Laundrie were found in the Myakkahatchee Creek Environmental Park.
Law enforcement sources told NBC News that the remains were found in a section of the Myakkahatchee Creek Environmental Park that had previously been underwater due to heavy rains.
A cadaver dog also has been deployed to the scene, CNN reported. A tent was set up in the area, according to chopper video posted by a reporter for News Nation Now.
Laundrie’s belongings were discovered Wednesday at the heavily wooded park, where his parents arrived in the morning, the family’s lawyer, Steven Bertolino, told The Post.

My beeber went off too, but I had a nukeular stress test recently.
With DNS testing it seems like it would be difficult or impossible to do the old “substitute somebody else’s body to make people think I am dead” routine.
Just like cadaver voters (dead Democrats).
Assuming this partial human died a month ago, isn’t it rather unusual in cases of murder-suicide for the suicide to take place weeks after the murder portion? I could visualize the suicide being at a later time if law enforcement were in hot pursuit and closing in, but that wasn’t the case here.
“Really quite insane that this is happening right after the parents visit the area.”
Really quite insane that this is happening while the parents visit the area.
Boy Scouts discover human remains under Pensacola historical building
6/21/2021
PENSACOLA, Fla. — Humans remains were found under a building in Pensacola on Saturday as local Boy Scouts were conducting a cleanup.
Pensacola Police are now conducting an investigation.
The remains were discovered Saturday afternoon under a building at 1601 E. La Rua Street.
Police say “local Boy Scouts were conducting a cleanup in and around the building as an Eagle Scout project” when the remains were found in a crawl space under the building.
“Investigators contacted the Medical Examiner’s Office, who concluded that the bones found were human,” a release from Pensacola Police states. “The University of West Florida Department of Anthropology is also assisting in the investigation.”
Police add that the building is city-owned and has been used over the years by civic groups including the Boy Scouts. It is a designated historical building.
Buzzards should have found him earlier, if not in water. That would have been a tell for anybody. Look for the birds.
ahh the human interest story that covers up all the rest of the horrible news. I don’t care at all.
Occam's razor. It's him.
My guess all along was that it was a murder/delayed suicide.
He went out into the Florida swamp and killed himself so he could become alligator food.
It’ll all come out in the wash.
Who is Director of National Security these days, anyway?
DNA
According to the article, "the remains were found in a section of the Myakkahatchee Creek Environmental Park that had previously been underwater due to heavy rains."
My guess is that the buzzards showed up once the water level went down.
If there’s no heart, it’s him.
Why has this case garnered so much publicity? Thousands of people are killed in Chicago these days and not a peep.
yep
Nobody ever said Laundrie was terribly smart.
BINGO ! The PARENTS are NOT AT ALL CONCERNED!
