Always enjoyed his work from Zulu to Get Carter to his role in the Batman flicks.

A shame, but not a surprise. The man has had an amazing career.

I like his "Harry Palmer" spy movies. Wish I could
find them somewhere.

Zulu, what a film too start a career with. From my understanding ZULU, is the English version of Diehard, required watching at Christmas.

He's 88?? Holy crap I seriously thought he was in his mid-60s or something.
Jack Nicholson, Gene Hackman, Al Pacino, Robert Redford...they're all up there in the 80s too.

Already???

He was great in The Dark Knight as well as as Austin Powers’ dad. “If we're gonna speak in front of these American girls we should speak *English* English!”.

I loved him as ‘Uncle Garth’ in ‘Secondhand Lions’. He does a damn fine Texas accent for a Brit.

He and Maggie Smith were so charming and funny in “California Suite.” I also liked “Sleuth.”

I didn’t like “The Island” until the last 10 minutes. Then I thought, ‘hey - that’s pretty cool.’

In one of his interviews, he said he took nearly any part offered to him. When asked why, he said one must practice his craft even if it is in a bit part.

A master at his trade....with some great stories about people he worked with. I’ll bet a bio would be well worth the read.

I remember seeing ‘Dirty Rotten Scoundrels’ as a teen and thinking it was one of the funniest movies I’d ever seen. Caine was a great talent.
