The Federal Consumer Prosecutor's Office ( Profeco ) announced this Friday that it could withdraw from the market some of the instant soup brands that exist in Mexico because they have a low nutritional contribution and, on the contrary, are highly caloric (they contribute between 270 to 334 kilocalories per serving ) and contain excess sodium.
The Profeco Consumer Magazine announced that in its next issue it will publish the result of the quality study it carried out on 33 brands. At the moment it is still unknown which are the soups whose sale will be prohibited, but these products are incredibly popular since for many young students or professionals they represent an inexpensive and fast alternative to food.

Yes!
“Pack of chicken or shrimp Ramen. Scoop of peanut butter. Dash of hot sauce. Squeeze of lime.”
That is freakin’ BRILLIANT! BRILLIANT, I say!
My BIL makes a cold side dish ‘salad’ with Ramen Noodles as the base. Also delish!

there are very few I ever eat straight out of the packet.
Vifon Pho Bo is pretty good, but I add herbs, lime and chili sauce
Mine is backpacking food. But it also works as a keep in your desk emergency lunch.
Just use TruLime in place of the fresh.
Find an Asian market and buy some Indomie Mi Goreng ramen. All kinds of flavors. “Special Chicken” is my favorite.
Just as you said, add in some meat or shrimp, onions, shrooms, cilantro or Thai basil and/or whatever else you like and it’s a full meal.
We have plenty of Vietnamese, Hmong, Chinese, Thai, Korean and Indian markets and restaurants nearby. I have a favorite Korean store that sells frozen bulgogi meat already cut up and marinated, and all the various Korean veggies and noodles and kimchee so I can buy whatever and take home and prepare whenever.
I’m out in the sticks with only two small Asian markets with 1/2 hour drive. This past weekend I was in a city that has a mega Asian market. I stocked up there and then found a Laotian cafe for some Viet coffee and a Bahn Mi.
I never eat mine without a sliced hard boiled egg, cubed leftover chicken and sliced green onion. A little sesame oil and soy sauce tops it off.
—”Don’t use the whole packet of ‘flavor.’ A little goes a long way!”
A friend eats them DRY, simply sprinkling the flavoring on the dry biscuit.
I always thought the flavoring fell off, but if only a is needed... Must be OK.
I despise Lima beans.
:)
Probably made from enriched flour too so it will have a few actual nutrients. Which isn’t to say it’s healthy but it’s also not quite a “food alternative.”
Whip up an egg and pour it into the boiling soup, add frozen cooked shrimp, shredded carrot, mushrooms
“an alternative to food”. Those Haitian could show them a few things.
