Find an Asian market and buy some Indomie Mi Goreng ramen. All kinds of flavors. “Special Chicken” is my favorite.
Just as you said, add in some meat or shrimp, onions, shrooms, cilantro or Thai basil and/or whatever else you like and it’s a full meal.
We have plenty of Vietnamese, Hmong, Chinese, Thai, Korean and Indian markets and restaurants nearby. I have a favorite Korean store that sells frozen bulgogi meat already cut up and marinated, and all the various Korean veggies and noodles and kimchee so I can buy whatever and take home and prepare whenever.
