Lindsey Buckingham Won’t Stop
rolling stone ^ | 9/9/2021 | rodrick

...“I think others in the band just felt that they were not empowered enough, individually, for whatever their own reasons, to stand up for what was right,” says Buckingham. He pauses for just a second and then plows on. “And so, it became a little bit like Trump and the Republicans.”

Fleetwood has hinted that Buckingham could be welcomed back if Nicks comes around. It’s unlikely that comparing Nicks to Trump will help those chances. ...

He looked at Stevie funny during a gig and that is what he got kicked off the tour.

No chance she is going to let him come back now...lolololol

Saw a gossip item that she would only go on a new tour if she got a bigger cut and so the tour idea was axed.

Can you have Fleetwood Mac without Stevie? Probably not

“Can you have Fleetwood Mac without Stevie? Probably not “

No more than you could have Mac without Lindsay.

I thought they kicked him out because they were planning a tour about 2-3 years ago and he said he wasn’t ready for one.

I never particularly cared for him or his music. Some of his stuff is ok (both with Fleetwood and solo), but I never bought any, and if I heard it on the radio I would usually change the dial, not because I particularly disliked it, but I just assumed another station would be playing something I liked better.

“Can you have Fleetwood Macwothout Stevie?”

They were a successful band for years before she came along. As obnoxious as his political views are, I like Buckingham’s music more than Nick’s.

The only two Fleetwood Mac songs I have any use for are “Bare Trees” and “Come A Little Bit Closer”. That’s it!

That's why it's good to be the singer. Everyone else is replaceable but if you are the singer it's like a different band when you put someone else in (if that singer is really well known and a big part of your sound, that is).

Example: The only way Journey can exist still without Steve Perry was to find a guy who was a Steve Perry clone. But a clone isn't enough to keep them selling out stadiums because, you know, people don't think it's really Journey.

I can see this playing out this way

“Nicks reignited their feud when she claimed Buckingham “smirked” at her when she delivered an acceptance speech at a benefit concert. Nicks then reportedly said she never wanted to be onstage with Buckingham again and delivered the ultimatum.”

That's the story I heard too. Mick Fleetwood is basically broke (Chapter 7 bankruptcy) and he wanted the income. Buckingham didn't want the road. I will admit that Nicks doesn't look a lot like Donald Trump but then you've never seen them together...

Nicks wouldn’t have gotten anywhere without Buckingham, she only got into Fleetwood Mac because they were a package deal at the time.
