So anyways, I got the vaccine.

Posted on 08/31/2021 6:57:12 PM PDT by Jonty30

I kept my answer to all, "no's, regardless of what the questions were. She then wanted to give me Pfeizer, which I told her that was not going to happen. I choser Moderna, as I've read it is the least problematic.

Once I got the vaccine, I got and left immediately, despite being advised to sit for 15 minutes.

Yep. I don’t trust them, either.

I think this is all part of a decades long plan to render the middle class, and particularly white power workers, into compliant robots.

It all started with the big push to get every bright kid to get a college degree, and push them towards some sort of professional career working for a corporation or the government, as opposed to starting a small business.

Add to that, the trend of people marrying and having children much later, or not having children at all, This means more disposable income to be spent on fancy dinners, vacations, concerts, sporting events.

All these COVID mandates in the Blue cities seem geared towards targeting this demographic.

I live in New York City, and the rules that they’ve imposed about having to be vaccinated to dine in a restaurant do not seem to apply to fast food places, by the slice pizzerias, little Middle Eastern places that serve falafel and gyro sandwiches, Chinese take out joints, and any other establishment that does not have waiter or waitress service.

They are targeting the restaurants that cater to people with good jobs who want to wine and dine with their friends. Socialism has always been about taking out the middle class, and a good portion of the upper middle class are a bunch of brainwashed, Stephen Colbert watching, compliant, corporate sheep, who have been primed to willingly go to the slaughter.

What turned me against vaxxes, or at least to begin investigating the ones currently available, was the ease with which, and lack of remorse displayed by a so-called ‘conservative’ government in Alberta, in completely ignoring the Canadian Constitution, by ARRESTING and JAILING a number of Pastors, and INVADING, SEIZING and OCCUPYING churches! The so-called ‘Conservative’ Premier of Alberta, went farther ‘fascist’ that ANY OTHER Premier in Canada!

THAT got me questioning, why the Draconian measures, and why the INSANE push to get EVERYONE vaxxed? That got me investigating, and I realized I wanted NONE OF THEM (vaxxes OR politicians)! I just hope that the Novavax vaccine is approved before the Provincial and Federal governments make vaxxes MANDITORY! Our courts are full of socialist/statist judges, who will likely ignore our Constitution, allowing governments to bring in the most DRACONIAN of laws ‘in the public interest’, including manditory vaxxes.

Only difference is———>covid-19 is much more contagious than all those other diseases you listed. That is the singular difference. You don’t catch pneumonia by talking to a pneumonia patient. But if you talk to a covid patient just for 5 minutes, you can get covid infection.

205,000,000 Americans are not ALL stupid. They opted to get jabbed with the experimental vaccine. DO NOT UNDER-ESTIMATE fear of covid among Americans. 205 million is a the largest by far vaccination voluntarily taken by Americans.

The next candidate for president who belittles fear of covid will lose big. Trump only lost by less than a million votes in swing states because he has more charisma than all last 10 republican presidents COMBINED. If only Trump had said “I feel your pain” instead of “covid is just another flu and will die away when summer arrives”, he would be re-elected in spite of the fraud.

All that said, I concur with you in that the covid based restrictions are way overboard.

I appreciate the civil conversation.

I do have differences of opinion with you on this. No matter how you slice it, Covid is NOWHERE nearly as deadly as other pathogens from the past. We don’t get Bubonic Plague now very often now because hygiene is generally practiced and we know its mode of transmission so we can fight it, even though it does still exist in some third world countries...even showing up here. I think it matters less HOW people catch the pathogen, IMO, it is what happens to them when they DO catch it. Anyone who looks at this rationally understands the effects of the virus were FAR from uniform across age groups and health status categories, and the people most at risk are *relatively* easily identifiable (though clearly, not always)

Once a virus is out of containment, quarantines and lockdowns are useless. And this virus was out of containment early on.

I had no problem with the early lockdown. But by April 2020, this virus was WELL understood with respect to how it was transmitted and affected various groups. And policies should have changed then and there, IMO. And that is why the modern comparison to Bubonic Plague and Covid hinges on the mortality-we knew how this thing worked. It wasn’t a mystery.

I understood the dynamic-Trump was responsible for the full response and should have dealt with it as a executive or leader whose job it is to triage and make choices. Fauci, who is ostensibly a physician though I doubt he has personally cared for a patient for nearly half a century, approached it as a physician. Leaders triage. Physicians have to try to save every single person, right or wrong. It is what they do. And I think Trump made the mistake of completely deferring to the likes of him and Birx. He should have had the welfare of the entire country and its future in the forefront, but he let them drive.

I want to cut President Trump slack, because it isn’t as if he had a precedent to work with. I think he did the best he could, but I wish he had never shut things down or allowed it for as long as he did.

And I don’t underestimate the fear. I fully understand the POWER of it, and I despise it being deliberately used as a tool. That is what tyrants do. In this case, it was deliberately used, and far, FAR out of proportion. It is cruel to people. They have a lot of people scared half to death, and a HUGE number of those people don’t need to be. Certainly, we can agree, there are some populations that should be very concerned.

But I despise and detest fear being used deliberately as a cudgel, regardless of the psychological pain and fear it inflicts on people, particularly the young and the old. Look what it is doing to young children who are at miniscule risk. We have seen what the global warming scare tactics have done to kids for the last 30 years. Deliberate scare tactics. And they are doing it now, deliberately.

I deplore this tactic, and it IS a tactic. A deliberate one. That is what I have an issue with.

And I disagree with your assessment of Trump losing because he didn’t jump on the Covid Terror Bandwagon the Left was trying with all of its might to force him onto. If anything, I fault Trump and the Republicans for meekly going along with it instead of fighting it and working for more sensible measures.

You and I can and will disagree on these things, but I think we both agree that there should have been sensible measures, not this stupidity, putting all these people out of business, keeping kids out of school, paying people more to stay at home than to work at a job, and bankrupting our country in the process.

I’m glad. I think it probably depends on the individual biology, strength of immune system, and Lord knows what else.

I think it just depends on the individual biology. I just know that I’m very grateful - I’m aware of some people among my acquaintances who have had a bad time with it.

Thank you for the civility as well. However it is not the deadly level of covid which frightens people, it is how easy it is to get infected. No other disease in recent years has spread this fast.

I agree this is not a real killer disease like the smallpox I had at age between 9-10. That disease has a record of killing 30%+ of those infected. But even smallpox did not spread this fast as covid has. Just attend one wedding and majority of attendees get infected.

It took a year for me to be convinced by the evidence to get the shot.
Moderna.
Did sit for the 15 minutes.

Well, that’s great. My mother was bedridden the next day after her first Moderna jab and dead 3 weeks after the second jab. Her personal physician refused to be present for either shot.

I decided to take vitamin D3 and zinc.
I would take HCQ if I can find it as the democrats have banned it’s use as it is low cost and will not kill or maim you.

There is about a one in 100 thousand chance of bad (like death) result from the vaccine- and a one in a thousand chance of a bad (like death) result from not getting the vaccine.

Certainly sucks though when someone you love is an outlier.
