the original ‘wild’ Wuhan had about a 7-10 days to bad symptoms so there was some wiggle room on when to start and maybe some sniffles as a clue.
But this Delta one is 3-5 days to bad symptoms, not always sniffles, and it takes off at a sprint. It’s hard to know when ‘early’ is anymore.

Early treatment and/or prophylaxis is critical, which he reportedly passed on, but so does the official, approved medical establishment at this point anyway. That is, they probably would have told him to go home and wait until he was short of breath before coming back to him. And many studies show no benefit to masks out in the real world, so his protest on that count is not really relevant.
