A russet potato costs about 20 cents. There are 1-2 potatoes in a $3.56 (Walmart) bag of Lays chips. Fry your own chips.
A small sized McDonald’s fries costs $1.39 and is about equal to 1 small potato. Again, fry your own.

Invest in a $10 curly vegetable slicer and have curly fries anytime you wish.

RUFFLES, sour cream and cheddar, run a good
second place.
When younger, Dad taught us children that a meal was
never a meal until the potatoes were served.

When I worked at a food stand in an amusement park when I was a teen, we called it a "gronker". Same oil for fries, onion rings, chicken, fish...
The chicken sort of tasted like chicken. So did the other stuff.

The restaurant that I worked in also had breakfasts. When the early morning crowd got going, the cooks would start cooking bacon in the deep fryer instead of the grill.
The fries started tasting like BACON!..................

I second that Smashed Taters are awesome! Easier to make than potato skins, for sure.
I nuke Red Potatoes, smash them on a cookie sheet, drizzle with EVOO, add S&P and crumbled Blue Cheese. Warm through in the oven as directed.
My back hurts just KNOWING how many potatoes I still have in the ground to dig! I think I’ll just have Beau do it with the backhoe like he did last year when he was being lazy. But, it worked! :)

Fries that taste like bacon - now that is a real treat.
The only thing better than Bacon-Wrapped Shrimp is Bacon-Wrapped Bacon!
