Fact Check: There is no evidence to suggest COVID-19 vaccines will kill people by causing antibody- dependent enhancement, current evidence demonstrates the opposite

A baseless quote has been widely attributed to a Nobel Prize winner to claim people will die from antibody-dependent enhancement after receiving a COVID-19 jab. There is no evidence to back up this claim, nor was Reuters able to find any instance where the laureate made this comment.

The claim, made in a post that has been screenshot and shared on social media platforms, says French virologist Luc Montagnier “has confirmed that there is no chance of survival for people who have received any form of the vaccine”. (here , here and here).

It then quotes him as saying: “’There is no hope, and no possible treatment for those who have been vaccinated already. We must be prepared to incinerate the bodies.’” The post adds: “The scientific genius backed claims of other pre eminent [sic] virologists after studying the constituents of the vaccine. ‘They will all die from antibody dependent enhancement.’ Nothing more can be said.’”

Montagnier won the Nobel Prize for medicine in 2008 with fellow scientist Francoise Barre-Sinoussi for their work identifying the HIV virus ( here ). More recently, Montagnier has been criticised for comments regarding HIV and the immune system, as well as a claim that SARS-CoV-2, the virus that causes COVID-19, was leaked from a laboratory (bit.ly/3bUQZnT). These comments are outside the scope of this check.

Reuters was unable to find any evidence that Montagnier made the comments quoted in the social media posts. Links included in the post also offered no extra evidence: one was a Wikipedia page for the scientist and a second was for a video interview in which Montagnier talks about variants and vaccines ( here ).

I’m not saying that the claim isn’t bunk, but that quote right there is sweet gold cup of ironic crap.

SOCIAL MEDIA HAS BEEN CENSORING EVERYTHING COVID FOR OVER 6 MONTHS. Down the memory hole it has all gone.

I would pay attention to Dr. Robert Malone’s concerns before al Ruters propaganda. Perhaps there will not be an issue. I certainly hope not, but let’s see what happens over the next winter before stating it’s nonsense.

In this 10-minute War Room video released last July 28, 2021, Dr. Robert Malone, physician and inventor of the mRNA vaccine technology, warns that new data is now showing that the COVID vaccines are causing antibody-dependent enhancement (ADE).
In the video, Malone explains what ADE is, and says that this is not a new occurrence. He says that the phenomenon was also observed in other vaccines for other illnesses such as the Respiratory Syncytial Virus (RSV) and Dengvaxia [also read SARS-CoV-2 vaccines can make you sick, volunteers in human trials uninformed of risks and Did we forget our lessons from Dengvaxia?]. He adds that ADE has happened in virtually all coronavirus vaccines developed in history and has been a serious concern among vaccinologists from the very beginning of the mass COVID vaccine rollouts.
Malone goes on to explain why ADE is first showing up in Pfizer vaccines. He says, “We now know that the Pfizer protection is waning at 6 months, and what the data seemed to suggest is those who have received Pfizer – which is probably the least immunogenic of the 3 in terms of durability and length of protection – are now in the waning phase of the immune response and seem to be getting infected”.
Malone adds, “The government seems to be obfuscating what is happening here. I don’t mean to sound alarmist, but what it seems to be rolling out is the worst-case scenario where the vaccine in the waning phase is causing the virus to replicate more efficiently than it would otherwise”.
When asked about the effects of vaccines on the mutations of COVID-19, Dr. Malone states that the mutation is “another misleading set of statements from Dr. Fauci. The escape mutants that are escaping vaccine selecting pressure are most likely developing in the people that have been vaccinated, not in the unvaccinated, so that’s just another convenient lie”.
Dr. Malone also states that if the data showing that vaccinated people have higher viral loads compared to the unvaccinated, then this confirms ADE and the government must immediately stop vaccine rollouts

Straw man? It’s been non-stop articles posted about COVID-19 vaccines and antibody-dependent enhancement (ADE) here for weeks. Claims made left and right, with zero evidence to back them up. People posting link after link to papers discussing the theoretical possibility, but the claims made about what those papers say claim they’re evidence that ADE is happening and is going to kill off all the vaccinated people.

So no, it’s not a straw man. The claims are being regularly made.
