At the start of the Delta variant, the media, the Democrats, and snobby liberal America knew who to blame. It was the unvaccinated. Yes, they make up virtually all the recent hospitalizations and new deaths. The goal should have been to convince these people to get the shot, not denigrate them, and certainly not mock their deaths. Liberal America took the latter route. The moral superiority complex kicked in and now those who were on the fence are firmly entrenched in their position to not get vaccinated. To make matters worse, the experts and the Biden White House continue to fail at messaging. The cherry on top of this government fail sundae is that they think bribing people $100 will boost vaccination rates. Some people are skeptical of government, some have questions about long-term risks, and others simply don’t want it. It’s their choice. It should always be a choice. Only a liberal would view the unvaccinated as a sub-human species. Yet, more and more stories have shredded this narrative.
For starters, they’re not all Trump lovers or Republicans. It’s not religion either. By May 11, Data Progress noted that 60+ percent of Jews, Catholics, and other non-denominational Christians have had at least one dose of the Pfizer or Moderna vaccine. Now, are a good chunk of COVID vaccine hesitators GOP supporters, sure—but some 40 percent of New York City’s workers remain unvaccinated. One-quarter of health care workers are unvaccinated. In fact, the most hesitant group have higher education degrees, doctorates to be exact. I doubt these folks are hard-core MAGA or readers of conservative media.
It’s a very complicated and very nuanced debate, one that has been raging for years. And now, The New York Times has a story about how young black New Yorkers are simply saying “no” to the COVID vaccine (via NYT):
A construction site safety manager in Queens said that as a Black man, he was more worried about the prospect of being stopped by the police than he was about getting Covid-19.
A graduate student in the Bronx who had not gotten vaccinated said her worst fears seemed confirmed when a vaccine that the government was directing to Black and poorer neighborhoods was briefly suspended over a small number of dangerous blood clots.
And a civil rights activist in the Bronx said he grew suspicious when he heard last year that politicians were prioritizing minority neighborhoods for coronavirus vaccinations.

All three situations reflect a trend that has become a major concern to public health experts: Young Black New Yorkers are especially reluctant to get vaccinated, even as the Delta variant is rapidly spreading among their ranks. City data shows that only 28 percent of Black New Yorkers ages 18 to 44 years are fully vaccinated, compared with 48 percent of Latino residents and 52 percent of white residents in that age group.
This vaccination gap is emerging as the latest stark racial disparity in an epidemic full of them. Epidemiologists say they expect this third wave will hit Black New Yorkers especially hard.
“This is a major public health failure,” said Dr. Dustin Duncan, an epidemiologist and Columbia University professor.
Yeah, well maybe you experts should have thought about the consequences of going on television and telling people that the vaccine doesn’t work.
‘Get the shot but keep wearing a mask.’ You all heard it for weeks from these clowns. Why? People will question whether the vaccine works. That’s what comes from these sentiments. They didn’t care and now tens of millions are simply refusing to get vaccinated. You can’t blame Trump. You can’t blame Ron DeSantis. Young black NYC residents don’t trust the government, but it’s not just them. After this fiasco, EVERYONE should be skeptical of the medical experts, and many have tuned out these clowns who say one thing only to say something else that contradicts what was taken as gospel hours later. And now, with cities and localities passing soft vaccine passport mandates, it looks like young blacks will be barred from certain public settings. But I thought the country bumpkins were the reason why vaccination levels stagnated, right? It’s a mess that only liberal America could make.

Let’s not forget that DHS classifies anti-vaxers as domestic terrorists. All of the DHS needs to be dismantled, except the Coast Guard.

Democrats hated the vaccine when Trump was in office, but they just changed their mind when Joe got in.
There is no push to verify immunity (perhaps through recovery from COVID) there is only a push to give everyone the jab.
None of this makes any sense at all.
All I know is that the jab is not approved by the FDA, it’s experimental, and clearly has short-term side-effects, and may have long-term side-effects.

It was predicted long ago that vaxxing the population during a “pandemic” would produce stronger variants by the vaxxed that would eventually overwhelm the “vaccine”.
I had C-19 and a Frontline Doc prescribed HCQ+Zn. The other half like an idiot got vaxxed even though she already recovered from C-19 just like I did. She reasoned that she didn’t want to be inconvenienced by travel restrictions. YES, she is that stupid
So I take quercetin+Zn+vitamins in case she brings home a variant from he$$, from what I have seen, only an idiot would get vaxxed with half assed tested drugs that are dangerous by any measure.
Fauci and his group of idiots with medical degrees can wait for the crimes against humanity trials. I think my innate immune system gives me a really good chance to not even get sick while the vaxxed fools might suffer mass deaths. Time will tell.

DHS was initially created to allow agencies to deconflict investigations, since after 9/11 they all pointed fingers and it was discovered that none of them shared info.
The rest was just reorganizing existing agencies and putting them under the DHS umbrella.
Secret Service and ATF should go back to Treasury where they were before. Talk about the ATF even existing is for another time.
Coast Guard should go back to DOD.
Given that the FDA is part of the whole corrupt federal government, you can be sure that it will be approved soon enough, whether it is safe or effective or not. And then? Well, then the crap really hits the fan, as employers, the government, etc., will be able to force people to get it.

Really makes no difference to me. For now, talking about the experimental status seems like a handy data point in discussion with pro-vax people. But, really, I decide what goes in my body and I won’t bow down and allow any approved medicines to be mandated for me either.

Stop capitalizing “black” when you’re talking about someone’s skin color.
I’m not surprised at all that the biggest unvaccinated demographic is people with PhD’s. Messenger RNA modification is a technology that has only been around for 15 years. It has been tried for a number of ailments, including cancer, and FAILED. People who would not be caught eating GMO food are jabbing themselves with an experimental drug solely due to peer pressure. I might get the vaccine next year, but this year, I will watch the massive clinical trial that is currently being conducted around the world.

I’m not an idiot, and I DID take it. As have 90% (89.1%)of Arizonans over 65 and 73% of those 55-65. The state had over 3000 cases reported yesterday (up 6-fold since June) and 2 deaths (below average, which is probably more like 10/day, about double what we had in June).
Those over 65 are 12% of total cases and 75% of deaths (since the start). And most of those are over 75. There is a reason why 90% of the over 65 crowd have CHOSEN to take the vaccine. And our death numbers indicate it is helping reduce deaths even as cases explode among the young. The young are welcome to get protection via catching it but the elderly can use some help.
BTW - although cases remain high, hospitalizations have leveled off in Arizona for the last couple of weeks. ICU bed use has been level for a week. I suspect we’re at the peak of the third wave and since the YOUNG have been catching it (and recovering) in large numbers...we may be passing the NEED for vaccinations in Arizona.
Time will tell which one of the two of you is the idiot. Hopefully it proves neither of you are and you both survive this without side effects

It is important to keep the recent COVID fatality rate in perspective.
In the last nine weeks, COVID has averaged 1,750 deaths per week.
In an average influenza season (just 26 weeks), influenza kills 1,400 per week.
In addition, the CDC does not count influenza deaths the same way it counts COVID deaths...
Influenza + Pneumonia or ARDS deaths = 10%-20% Influenza deaths
COVID + Pneumonia or ARDS deaths = 100% COVID deaths!

Time will tell, but I’ll bet it will take 3+ years before the anti-vax side will admit we aren’t dropping like flies. FWIW, my wife refuses to take the shot. She had a bad reaction to two previous vaccines, particularly the shingles one, and isn’t comfortable with getting this one. And I understand. I have NO PROBLEM with someone refusing to take this vaccine. No skin off my back.
