I'm contracting for a "high-tech" company who is now mandating all employees and contractors get the jab. Not sure how I'm going to fight this, but it's interesting that the military has issued a similar statement today. This is where my rubber meets the road. Advice from you all is welcome except for the "just get another job".
I wrestle with this question a lot. I have no other response than to say it pays good and I’m good at it.

I have a neighbor who has hit some rough patches in his life and now has very few options. No pension and minuscule SS, he managed to find a job that he could handle (heart condition to boot). That gig vaporized with the coof and it doesn't look like it's ever coming back.
He's already had the virus and doesn't need to stress his system with any experimental drugs.
You are definitely going about this the right way. It appears that you have a really good handle on this. Please let us know how it works out.

The funny thing, is that you have no idea whatsoever if taking the vax is the “smart thing”. None. There are over 12,000 people who volunteered to die by taking the jab they may or may not have needed, and that’s just the US. The EU is reporting double that, with almost 2 million adverse reactions, 59% of those serious. Yet here you are going along with the narrative, oblivious to the danger. Again,, you do you, but don’t try to tell anyone else what to do.

There's no law in this country anymore. Hell, just a few days ago the president himself defied a Supreme Court order and completely got away with it.
When the President of the United States tells the Supreme Court to piss off, companies can make up whatever rules they want.

And yes... As a free man, I chose to protect myself, and my loved ones and community by getting vaccinated.
And actually, YES. I do know that being vaccinated for a potentially deadly disease is the smart thing. I actually knew that even before my own brother spent two weeks in ICU with COVID, (and much longer recovering at home after that)
I also understand risk. I could get killed in a traffic accident, but I still choose to drive to work, and other places.
Balancing Risk, and Benefit, and making the logical choice based upon the massively overwhelming facts IS the smart thing. Avoiding vaccination because of a minuscule risk, or because of some schmuck’s brilliant bit chute rant is NOT the smart thing in this case.
I also DO believe that we landed on the moon in 1969. The Earth is a sphere, Bush did NOT carry out the WTC attack on 911, etc.
I don’t know if any one was on the grassy knoll.
