This year, there has been a widespread backlash to the philosophy of critical race theory, which has infiltrated popular culture and public school classrooms alike in recent years.
Yet the response to this backlash from its proponents is often fallacious at best, asserting that those who oppose critical race theory are simply white people who refuse to confront their own inherent racism and — this is the outrageous part — simply don’t want the harsh reality of slavery and racism to be taught in American classrooms.
``````````````````````````````````````````````` However, local groups are now calling for school board president, Chris McCune, to step down after he rudely shut her comments down, grabbing the microphone away from her as she was making her comments once her allotted time was up.
“I grew up during revolution,” Edgarian said when she initially addressed the board. “My motherland has been ravaged by communism and I left the Islamic country that was hunting us down.”
1. She was calm, cool and collected. Wasn't raising any sort of hell.
2. Amazing how folks on a school board think they're some all powerful being and obviously seem to get away with it. Anyone that arrogant isn't resigning and I'm betting he stands a good chance of staying on the board.
3. She obviously didn't see the video of the British guy tearing apart, with ease, but she should have and so should the cop..... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LxKu6-05n7k
4. I hope she gets a lawyer and sues the effin' pants off the school board.
5. EFF THE POLICE.....EFF THE POLICE....EFF THE POLICE ......... that cop is a disgusting POS, that doesn't deserve to wear a uniform. He is EXACTLY the kind of cop that will show up on your doorstep to take your guns and/or lock you up without asking a question. He's nothing but a wannabe StormTrooper. At this point in this country, given the context of that meeting, if any cop takes orders from some scumbag on a school board, he/she deserves to be stripped of EVERYTHING....gun, badge, pension, benefits....EVERYTHING.
And he and his family should be run out of town, if they live there.
Was the cop being overly aggressive when he removed her?
Because the cop, like these school board creeps, values his pay and corrupt masters over the truth.
This latest incident is proof that Satan’s children run the government schools.
No. It doesn’t appear as he was.
But, that ain’t the question/issue.....
He had no right to “remove” her, as you say. She was exercising her 1st AMENDMENT RIGHT. Ergo, by law, he is NOT allowed to interfere with her.
I’ve done what they call, Roll Call Training, on the topic. And, as long as the person isn’t acting in a violent manner toward others or obstructing a sidewalk, etc, and they’re talking, they can’t be bothered.
And of course, there’s always the court case that the guy in Bucks County presented to the school board there.
And of course, a member of a SCHOOL BOARD has absolutely no legal authority to tell a police officer/deputy how to do his/her job. All that POS had to do was tell the guy that she was acting within her rights as an AMERICAN CITIZEN and there was nothing he could do.
Whoever wrote this headline needs to take a 4th grade lesson in English composition.
I’m sure he’ll get right on that Professor. Good Lord.
But since you’re an English/Journalism Professor, please tell the FR world what is wrong with it.
This is why you need to pay attention to local School Board elections - in our Town we get around 10% voter turnout - resulting in the left taking over the entire Board.
It’s a blog.
That board was way out of line and I hope she sues! She was doing exactly what the Constitution says: to peacefully present greviences unlike the BLM’s method.
I'm not sure she'd win. According to the article, she WAS out of time. However, it seems that she was treated much differently from others who went over the time limit.
You nailed it.
No excuse.
I am not a professor of English, but I will not apologize for expecting people who are attempting to communicate their ideas to the public to use rudimentary composition skills.
In case you truly want the answer:
The title is saying that the school board, rather than the woman who was removed from the meeting, described a homeland “ravaged by communism”.
School Boards are starting to sound like the Teachers’ Unions. We are in charge. Do not question our authority or you will be banished forever. Now bow down and be quiet while we propagandize, I mean, teach your children.
They didn’t want to hear her complete what she was trying to put across.
This is yet another illustration how abuse/perversion of trespass laws are being wielded against the po unwashed proles.
The board meeting was a public event. As a public event, she has every right to attend and speak her mind - same as everyone else. She does not have the right to disrupt the event (I’m not claiming that she was).
And it is the prerogative and at the discretion of the security guard to remove her if she is truly being disruptive. The problem with that is defining “disruption” is an entirely subjective and relativistic matter. In this case disruptive meant “saying something I don’t like” to the board member.
Unfortunately the only (legal) remedy is to unseat the board members.
Does anyone have another link on this video?
She was treated like she would be in a communist country.
It has an introduction from Simon Campbell, who had his own run-in with a local school board a few months ago.
The speaker from this particular meeting occurred at the end of the meeting (second to last speaker), so this clip jumps right to her.
The teacher’s unions often find sympathetic candidates to back for school board elections. Almost no one does any homework on school board candidates so its easy for them to slip through. Also in blue collar union areas the teacher’s union plays that “union brother\sister” card, the teacher is just another working stiff standing up to “management “.
