Gov. Ron DeSantis was in St. Petersburg to discuss red tide on Wednesday, but took time to answer questions and address Florida’s recent spike in coronavirus cases and stress the importance of the COVID vaccine.
“Here’s, I think, the most important thing with the data: if you are vaccinated, fully vaccinated, the chance of you getting seriously ill or dying from COVID is effectively zero,” DeSantis said. “If you look at the people who are being admitted to hospitals, over 95 percent of them are either not fully vaccinated or not vaccinated at all. These vaccines are saving lives. They are reducing mortality.”
The governor said he’s been urging people to get vaccinated for months because of what he called the “summer season.”...
While DeSantis stressed the importance and efficacy of the vaccine, he also warned against government officials pushing vaccination too hard.
“They have different reasons for why they don’t take it and I think the more they’re hectored by government officials or some of these folks – that is not going to get them to ‘yes.’ I can tell you that right now,” he said. “I think these are folks that have skepticism of authorities. I think they have different reasons why they may not do it. I don’t think most of them think COVID is a hoax or anything. I think they understand.”

What we know about vaccines in general is no vaccine and no naturally acquired immunity is guaranteed 100% effective all the time every time in every individual at every age and health bracket. With a 98% effective vaccine, 2% will be outliers.
What we know about Israel in particular is, to quote the WaPo the 85% adult fully vaccinated population is “five times the unvaccinated” population. So the unvaccinated population is very small as a percentage of the population.
Say I have 20 beans and 5 are blue; that’s 20% of the total. But if I have 100 beans and 5 are blue that’s 5% of the total. So when you read that 15 vaccinated and 5 unvaccinated died, it doesn’t mean that vaccinated are dying at a higher rate than unvaccinated - the reverse is true - the group of vaccinated is 5 times larger, so 15 is a lower percentage of the total vaccined group than 5 is as a percentage of the unvaccinated group. The unvaccinated are still dying at a higher rate.
Israel has 12 people on ventilator, only 3 are vaccinated. Admissions to ICU are 1/20th the rate of the pre-vax rate and the Times of Israel reported today that the length of stay is down 34% from 12 days to 8 days. The overall death rate in Israel is currently 1.6%, down from 4% pre-vax. The Health Ministry reports only 144 hospitalizations as of today, Wednesday (and half are quarantined mild cases or covid cases with non-related issues). Hamodia posted today that 150 new cases of Delta were returning from other countries. ( A year ago, they had an article that a similar number of travelers accounted for over 80% of new covid cases.)
Unless something changes, Israel’s numbers prove that existing vaccines are having a significant impact on disease progression to hospitization stage and on final outcome even against faster replicating variants. And that is a very good thing.
Trump had a legacy interest in seeing a vaccine developed and delivered to the public.
What is the DeSantis excuse in pushing it?

Who said anything about not seeking the care of a medical doctor or trying to wing it with a home remedy?
The thing is, media and medical journals by now are thoroughly corrupted. Anyone who poor mouths HCQ or Ivermectin by now is indifferent toward your death. A doctor with clinical experience and in-house success treating COVID-19 patients by keeping their nappy rear ends the hell out of the hospital and allowing them to recover and convalesce at home is the gold standard. Accept nothing less.
Meaning, any future medical issues that might arise. In the back of your mind you’ll be thinking: “Is this connected to the fauxinne?”

But this reality added to the vaccine-related deaths is the argument for therapeutics in the low-risk demographics, rather than the wholesale application of experimental gene therapy to an entire population.
But because emergency use authorization has eliminated any discussion of therapeutics, “vaccination” has become a zero-sum game. This situation has so severely distorted the medical term of art termed “indications” that it is not even relevant anymore.

Trump is not a fool who believes what he is told. He knew exactly what the vaccines were. And any vaccine for a novel disease is by definition experimental. You cannot have it both ways; celebrate Trump’s success and condemn it because the Dems are now in power after stealing the election.
Politicians brave enough to push back completely against an international gestalt like COVID rapidly find themselves relegated to Alex Jones territory. Continually picking away at inconsistencies like Rand Paul has been doing is the only path forward.
As always, look for someone who gives you 80% of what you want - meaning Trump and DeSantis are fine. They are as close as we are likely to get.

And a bit of hearing grandstanding, inevitably followed up by fundraising, is not good enough. If it is the only path forward, we are doomed.
Yet another study that tries to discredit at least one element of simple, proven effective, early treatment by isolating it in a protocol never recommended or used in reported positive results.
