A man whose ingenious pop-up swimming pool kept the homeless cool during the recent heat wave was fatally stabbed in the same spot just one day later, according to Portland police.
Officers identified Tyson L. Morlock as the man who was found stabbed in the inner eastside Hosford-Abernethy neighborhood at Division Street and Southeast Martin Luther King Junior Boulevard around 3:37 a.m. on Thursday, July 1.
Despite life-saving efforts from paramedics, he died shortly thereafter in a nearby hospital, according to authorities.
Morlock, 27, had been interviewed the previous day, June 30, by a reporter on assignment for the Reuters news agency.
"There's not a lot of places you can go in the community where you can be safe," Morlock said, according to a tweet from the reporter, Sergio Olmos.

Now it makes sense.
The river runs right through town. Lots of parks they can terrorize while they cool off. Probably some drinking fountains they could rig or break to run continuously. Water keys are pretty common tools with the homeless, from what I’ve seen. If they haven’t got the initiative to cool off with free water....
Nothing good happens around MLK blvds.
I think bray nailed it. It’s a virtue signal.
Rule to live by: Don’t hang out at a place named “Martin Luther King Blvd.”
“They are regular folks who, through some turn of bad luck that’s no fault of their own, who have lost their home.”
People like that are not likely to be wandering the streets. They are more likely to be in shelters, following the rules, and taking constructive steps to get back on track.
So was Morlock stabbed by an Eloi?
Rather the turnabout...
It seems he was one of them. The article discusses how he had tried to steal a drink from the local 7-11. He looks a little light in the loafers. I wonder if he got stabbed for trying to hit on one of his camping buddies. Or perhaps he was trying to steal from him. There is a reason the cops haven't arrested the stabber.
I’m thinking this was probably self-defense. Morlock wasn’t some Good Samaritan coming by to help the homeless guys, he was a homeless guy himself.
How do we know the cops didn’t determine it was self defense? If Morlock had been shot by a homeowner or 7/11 clerk rather than stabbed by another homeless guy, most of us would object if the shooter was charged.
Agreed. The Chicoms make the KKK look like the NAACP
“There’s not a lot of places you can go in the community where you can be safe,”
Which means if you legally, by all that is holy, defend yourself you are not safe from the fascist judicial system and soros bought DAs.
Morlock?
The co-enabler is named Morlock?
And now he is a victim?
I guess they should build him a statue. ...sigh ......
Looks by the picture he was flashing the wrong gang symbol.
Quote ..."Homicide detectives say the person who stabbed Morlock remained at the scene and was interviewed, but "has not been charged at this time and we are not releasing his name."
All black antifa uniform?
Would this be fratricide?
So much for my powers of observation. Interesting.
Confucius say those who build pools should not go swimming with the sharks.
