No. “ME” was the absolute worst.
In your computer does do the Secure Boot you’re safe from windows 11 ,LOL
The biggest change is that Cortana is now a black woman, and talks with a black dialect.
HAHAHAHA.
That makes me laugh.
I can’t wait to update. I hope it comes with a vaccine passport.
“Free” is all you need to know.
And worth every penny.
ME didn’t change the interface. The guts were crap but at least there wasn’t a new learning curve everyone had to go down because some genius thought panels were more intuitive.
Panels suck. They are a mishmosh of crap with little logic to them. The programmer decides how big and where and end users have to hunt for what they want to do.
Menus are so much better. Sure, esoteric options are listed with commonly used ones but logic. Unless you are dumb as a stump menus are vastly superior.
For that alone, ME is not the worst Windows. I nominate Vista. Crap guts and crap interface.
I know Thinkpads have been made in china for a while but I’ve been using them since way before that. I buy them from ebay after they come from a lease situation. When a huge corporation upgrades, all of the sudden many thousands off lease units become available on ebay and you can get them pretty cheap. They have a windows COA sticker on them so reinstalling win is no problem. Huge corporations don’t lease junk either. I like that all thinkpads come with a HMM — Hardware Maintenance Manual aka service manual that outlines complete removal of any component.
Yep. That’s how I bought mine and others for clients. They’re usually in great shape. The need to have the latest and greatest is an addiction I don’t share with some folks. I’m still on a Galaxy Note 9 don’t feel compelled to upgrade anytime soon.
Don’t forget MS Bob. Vista was pretty suck, too.
Oh, goody! Beijing’s latest spyware. Thanks, Bill Gates!
(so glad I stayed with Win 7 and turned off updates).
"This goes to 11. So it's better..."
I use Windows 7 on my 6 year desktop pc which is fast. I have Windows 10 (bought) in a Oracle VM VirtualBox (free) for programs that only will run in Windows 10 like the new Office or Adobe products.
I would like to use android apps on the pc to use as many are free or inexpensive and work great to modify photos and do painting, illustrating, weather app etc.
I watched a couple of videos about 11. Primarily, it has a new font and the windows have rounded corners. Wowwwwwwww!
Most of the changes seemed to be cosmetic.
It’s not an update. It’s a replacement of an operating system. There is no guarantee that your favorite programs will continue to work.
Please do not update my pc without my consent. When I’m ready I’ll buy a new pc with it already installed.
Hmmmm. Wonder if Windows 7 is going to be included at some point.
No thanks
So I dug out my hotrod-iest laptop, a Dell XPS i7 16gig. I went to the site and ran the check - and it failed.
“Your PC did not meet the needed requirements. You can continue to get Windows 10 updates5 6, or you can shop for a new Windows 11 computer.”
Like I would actually shell out cold hard cash for a retrograde!
"Hey waddya say we make everybody buy new hardware again?"What a racket."YAAAAAY!!!!!"
