I still have the Windows 7 keys for my PCs. I’ll just do a clean install of Windows 7 and get my free upgrade.
LOL. What happened to “Windows 10 will be the last OS”?
You get what you pay for.....................
I still use Windows-7. It is free from constant & slow upgrade process of W-10.
If they’re not charging you, maybe you are the product.
I run dual boot Kubuntu & Win 7 Pro because like a lot of people, I consider win 7 to be the last decent version. I have updates turned off on Win 7 and I don’t let it connect to a network or internet. Runs like the day I installed it, though I rarely use it.
If you get the Covid vaccine.
never. in fact. on my machines where i still have a windows partition, i still run windows xt or lower. only my kids have windows 10 and i put nothing important on those laptops.
Perhaps this is the wrong page, but I had an odd event the other morning with my win10 laptop.
I had left it on, plugged in, with a Brave window (on FR) and a google chrome window (on Duolingo) open overnight.
When I went back in the morning, there was an admin/F1boot page up with a “save changes/load defaults” popup. I hit load defaults and unthinkingly closed the window. I did this because where I work the IT department will often change things overnight.
I have not noticed any changes in how it works, nor an increase in processer operations or internet activity.
What could be the cause of that admin page popping up in the middle of the night?
I upgraded to Apple thank you. 8.0 was the last straw. Bill Gates does not help either.
My brother in law gave me a few old Dell small form factor desktops with windows 7 and I used the win 7 key on their sticker to upgrade them to win 10 so it should work for win 11 if win 11 can run on the computer
I don’t understand why MS continues to offer a lifeline to 7 users. MOST of whom are corporate users.
They should just walk away from 7 and let the chips fall where they may. That includes ALL support for 7.
Well over 90% of clients will make the shift. The others cost too much money to keep on the tit.
Bfl
Windows 7 is my favorite version...by far.
Funny,
Apple figured out YEARS ago, they made far more money giving away their OS rather than charging for upgrades...
MS Still hasn’t figured it out.
Windows 11?
I’m waiting on version 42.
That’s going to be the be-all-and-end-all, so I’m led to believe.
This concept defies all logic. Why would anyone do this?
I have a great laptop with Windows 7. Great machine!
Then they kept wanting me to upgrade to Windows 10. So after a while I did.
Big mistake.
It wiped out some great programs in W7 and replaced them with nothing, and my machine now thinks I am in Denmark and not the US.
This is really funny. We still have a laptop running 7, which was the last OS Microsoft made that worked fairly well. Had to change platforms years ago with a MacBook Pro. I’d never go back.
