Are You Ready For The EVERYTHING Shortage?
The Organic Prepper ^ | 5-24-2021 | Robert Wheeler

Posted on 05/24/2021 4:44:15 AM PDT by blam

For several months, many of my articles covered the global shortages and coming shortages facing the worldwide economy. My articles warn of food, chip, fuel, and commodity shortages. I also wrote about inflation, crop failures, and scarcity of any goods that consumers may need or want.

Some readers may feel it was a bit like paranoia and overkill at the time.

Guess what?

MSM now reveals my writings on global shortages are, in fact, accurate

Many articles found on MSM corporate outlets report on global shortages. In fact, those articles seem like I could have written them. (Not the general hack stenographers masquerading as journalists today.)

One such article: “The World Economy Is Suddenly Running Low on Everything,” by Brendan Murray, Enda Curran, and Kim Chipman. This piece sums up many of the issues I’ve written about for several months, albeit much later.

To start, Murray, Curran, and Chipman write:

A year ago, as the pandemic ravaged country after country and economies shuddered, consumers were the ones panic-buying. Today, on the rebound, its companies are furiously trying to stock up.

Mattress producers to car manufacturers to aluminum foil makers are buying more material than they need to survive the breakneck speed at which demand for goods is recovering and assuage that primal fear of running out. The frenzy is pushing supply chains to the brink of seizing up. Shortages, transportation bottlenecks, and price spikes are nearing the highest levels in recent memory, raising concern that a supercharged global economy will stoke inflation.

But, wait, there are MORE global shortages to report

The writers also mention the global shortages of raw materials, crops, and other essential commodities. The effect of the current supply disruptions is seen not just on the economy but also daily life.

They write:

Copper, iron ore, and steel. Corn, coffee, wheat, and soybeans. Lumber, semiconductors, plastic, and cardboard for packaging. The world is seemingly low on all of it. “You name it, and we have a shortage on it,” Tom Linebarger, chairman, and chief executive of engine and generator manufacturer Cummins Inc., said on a call this month. Clients are “trying to get everything they can because they see high demand,” Jennifer Rumsey, the Columbus, Indiana-based company’s president, said. “They think it’s going to extend into next year.”

The difference between the big crunch of 2021 and past supply disruptions is the sheer magnitude of it and the fact that there is — as far as anyone can tell — no clear end in sight. Big or small, few businesses are spared.

And now, adding to the global shortage issue, we have all this…

There are other exacerbating issues. Here are just a few examples: •The backup of global shipping in the Suez Canal •Drought •Floods •Straight-line winds •Fires •Deep freezes •Rolling blackouts •The Colonial Pipeline hack

Of course, we have to mention COVID-19 economic damage. This prompted governments worldwide to engage in medieval-like tyranny levels and launch wars against their economies.

Don’t expect global shortages and price spikes to end any time soon

Take a look at the US economic indicator known as the Logistics Managers’ Index, a gauge built on a monthly survey of corporate supply chiefs. Information collected reveals where they foresee transportation, warehouse expenses, and inventory. You see, the current index is at the second-highest level in records dating back to 2016. Nor does the index show any respite in the next year.

“You bring all of these factors in, and it’s an environment that’s ripe for significant inflation, with limited levers” [for monetary authorities to pull], said David Landau, chief product officer at BluJay Solutions, a U.K.-based logistics software, and services provider.

Food prices are rising dramatically too. A United Nations gauge of world food costs climbed for the 11th straight month in April, the highest rise in seven years. Mismanagement of agricultural commodities in the US, weather issues, and a “crop-buying spree” in China led to more continuous price spikes than seen in over a decade.

Global shortages, price spikes, mismanagement, and more are all part of a “plan”

The economic crisis (and it is a crisis) is not simply a matter of corruption or short-sighted politicians. The fact is this is one step of many in an agenda that hatched long ago. It is a plan in which the bottom 99% of the world’s population lives under a complete tyranny with virtually no comforts. Their basic needs met by a government-controlled UBI payment controlled by cashless credits that can be cut off at the first sign of dissent.

This is what the Great Reset is all about. The failures of Free Trade combined with the coming Great Reset will make humanity wish they had given their all to defend their freedom.

We still have the chance to do so. Instead of sheepishly giving away our freedom out of fear and conformity, it’s time to step up.

How are you preparing for the everything shortage?

Are you producing more? Are you adapting to live with fewer choices? Do you have plans to produce more? Have you established a trusted barter network? Let’s discuss it in the comments.

My soil grows rocks best.

But I can get a decent crop of veggies out of the garden.

"Mine was largely comprised of construction debris, and I’m still pulling bricks out of the ground, but my soil is rallying. It also seems to have opinions about what it will and will not grow ;)"

I bet I could sell ordinary bags of dirt if I had, "SOIL WITH OPINION" written on the bag.

The left depends on bad news and constant crisis. They are unemployed with out it.

They are unemployed with it as well. Let's face it, they don't want to work. They want US to work and then hand over the fruits of our labor.

He’s not, I’ve been tracking it too. Plan on a garden with heirloom plants, even if you have to do container gardening. Learn to can, alternative heat. Filter water, standard live off the grid/EMP stuff. Ammo, Weapons, non power tools. 100% USA MADE https://tarterusa.com/ BOTTOMLESS horse troughs, fire rings, and where to find a dealer. Water collection.

Our soil is junk, we use containers. Pest control for the garden. Found fungus control doesn’t work well. Lost 200 strawberry plants to one.

If you think TP was a big problem food, electricity will be worse. No freezers yet except a few small Chinese pieces of junk. Gas of course will be a issue, BBQ grill charcoal or propane to cook on. Get before inflation hits.

I do the grocery shopping and meat, canned goods are already short, pet food has gone out the roof price wise. Sales are like buy 5 boxes of easy to go stale kiddie cereal doesn’t work for 1 person. Or shelf is empty odd brands you have no idea of quality/taste. You will need basics for baking, seasoning. Rotating your stock is a must. Rice, pasta, dried beans, store well in 5 gal labeled lidded buckets. Look for long term storage items that don’t need a fridge.

Bigger issue is fresh stuff. Milk, eggs, bread, dairy that don’t store long.

I've been a prepper on and off for close to 20 years. I'm sure my wife at times thought I was a little nuts but not anymore. After 5 years of insanity, lies and crimes of the Left and then COVID, she's convinced I'm not crazy at all. When I saw empty shelves in Italy, I went shopping, including buying that little chest freezer we'd been wanting for quite a few years and 36 mega rolls of TP.

I'm sure our neighbors think I'm crazy for building a fence around 12 acres and getting meat goats, all while we still have no well. WE HAVE A MEAT SUPPLY. The first place we lived while looking for land here in rural MO, was totally off the grid and we'd have to walk back up a pretty good hill carrying gallons of water. Now I just drive my little tractor down the road and fill the tank that sits on a trailer. Seems easy and the creek I get water from is Spring fed. We don't drink it but use it for everything else. We either buy bottled water or fill a clean 55 gal drum at a neighbors who's got a 300+ foot well.

I built a smoker a few years ago and a wood fired grill. We heat strictly with wood and can cook on the flat top of the wood stove. I've done pressure canning, including meat. I recently saw some articles and videos of people using a rocket stove to run a pressure canner so I need to build one of those. Also want to build a rocket stove water heater. Would be for outdoor use initially. Our wringer washer is outdoors. I've got a spot picked out for a root cellar. Got stuff to build a high tunnel. Stocked up on heirloom seeds a while back.

It took us two years to find this place but it was worth the wait. South facing elevation. 1-2 foot of top soil up on the 2-3 acre level area. Clayey loam, listed as Prime Farmland on the soil survey website. We're surrounded by Springs that put out potable water. Electric/phone run right down our 1,500 foot of road frontage. Took me three years to get the electric easement cut so we lived off grid for a total of five years and can do it again if need be. We had phone/dsl a few weeks after getting the cabin built. We lived off of 350 watts of solar panels, inverter and LED lighting. At times, we were surfing the web when our neighbors couldn't because the electricity was out.

As soon as the steal was a done deal, we bought a low mileage(for us) car that gets 30mpg. Wife's happy because she doesn't have to drive a full size pickup anymore.

Still on the to do list. Small pigs, more hens and I think I'm going to get one dairy goat doe which will give us milk. I've got one hen left out of half a dozen but she's the ultimate homestead hen. Knows how to not get killed by the hawks. I don't feed her but she still lays an egg every day so she's a good forager. If more than 8 eggs accumulate, she'll set on them so I'm going to get a dozen fertilized eggs from the neighbor and lock her in the coop so she can hatch and raise them.

Also on the list is an earth bermed house. Hopefully we can get that built before things get real bad. Will be similar to an earthship in the technical design aspect but done with traditional materials. Concrete foundation and walls. Not dirt filled tires and dirt floor. Too wet here.

Someone needs to start a Weekly Prepping thread. https://reusablecanninglids.com/ Tattler Reusable Canning Lids. Can be found on ebay/amazon too.

Nice sentiment but not always correct.

The majority of building supplies are American made. I spoke with a guy today who told me they don’t expect delivery on some American made materials till 2022.

The American made products in my particular industry are exceedingly hard to get too.

It’s a combination of many factors. Biden’s foolish policies are taking a tough situation into a catastrophe.

I’d love to see the national productivity index right now. With so many people collecting a salary on unemployment my guess is no one wants to work and this is a huge issue. Maybe we’ll all be Portland soon.

What free trade? It’s not free under the Nazi regime in DC

“ President tried to make America prosperous again. The American people said Hell with it and kicked him out and replaced him with an outright Thief. So enjoy.”

No, the people knew exactly what Trump was doing and loved it. 72 million. He was kicked out by treason and theft.

“ Someone needs to start a Weekly Prepping thread.”

We have an ongoing thread but I suck at keeping it going. Do you want to take that on?

Please? Anyone?

Life keeps getting in the way. First day moved. Then we had to get the old house ready to sell. Now my cat is very sick. Or maybe all this is an excuse for my forgetful old lady brain.

Give it a try, if you don’t like it you can quit. You can’t do any worse than I do that’s for sure!

I’ll send you the Ping list. Actually it’s on my homepage I guess. I’ll make sure it is. I have an Excel spreadsheet I used to update the list, I can send you that as well. Or I can just handle the ping list if you want to do just the postings. I think I might remember to do that okay.. maybe, lol

If you can plant clover and beans (maybe too late in some areas), I have read they can help fix bad soil.

I don’t know what happened last summer but after that Sahara dust came through, my garden here in GA really went kaput. A fungus took over every plant I had, that has never happened before. I called our state agriculture office about it and he said it was bad for everyone and didn’t know why.

Pretty decent shape for us. Expanding food storage to include expanded family, in case they show up knocking on the door with not much to eat.

Thinking about lists of chores that will need to be done. Get their agreement up front that they will do x,y,and z to earn their keep.

We are still having cooler than normal temperatures - especially at night, and too much rain may impact our volume of produce - but the lettuce is loving it.

Trying to buy any tools etc. that we think we may need now - before inflation makes them unaffordable.

What happens to a society that continually degrades it’s currency’s buying power by printing more and more money and incurring more and more debt?

We all know that the circus ain’t gonna last forever-The PAIN is coming-that’s for sure. It seems that TPTB, are putting the pedal to the metal to make sure an economic crash happens sooner rather than later.

I am reminded of something I read - Selco or Feral - said it I think-something on the order of: When the Police are participating in lawlessness and not stopping the criminals, you’ll know its TEOTWAYKI—if you had not figured it out before then.
