Are You Ready For The EVERYTHING Shortage?
The Organic Prepper ^ | 5-24-2021 | Robert Wheeler

Posted on 05/24/2021 4:44:15 AM PDT by blam

For several months, many of my articles covered the global shortages and coming shortages facing the worldwide economy. My articles warn of food, chip, fuel, and commodity shortages. I also wrote about inflation, crop failures, and scarcity of any goods that consumers may need or want.

Some readers may feel it was a bit like paranoia and overkill at the time.

Guess what?

MSM now reveals my writings on global shortages are, in fact, accurate

Many articles found on MSM corporate outlets report on global shortages. In fact, those articles seem like I could have written them. (Not the general hack stenographers masquerading as journalists today.)

One such article: “The World Economy Is Suddenly Running Low on Everything,” by Brendan Murray, Enda Curran, and Kim Chipman. This piece sums up many of the issues I’ve written about for several months, albeit much later.

To start, Murray, Curran, and Chipman write:

A year ago, as the pandemic ravaged country after country and economies shuddered, consumers were the ones panic-buying. Today, on the rebound, its companies are furiously trying to stock up.

Mattress producers to car manufacturers to aluminum foil makers are buying more material than they need to survive the breakneck speed at which demand for goods is recovering and assuage that primal fear of running out. The frenzy is pushing supply chains to the brink of seizing up. Shortages, transportation bottlenecks, and price spikes are nearing the highest levels in recent memory, raising concern that a supercharged global economy will stoke inflation.

But, wait, there are MORE global shortages to report

The writers also mention the global shortages of raw materials, crops, and other essential commodities. The effect of the current supply disruptions is seen not just on the economy but also daily life.

They write:

Copper, iron ore, and steel. Corn, coffee, wheat, and soybeans. Lumber, semiconductors, plastic, and cardboard for packaging. The world is seemingly low on all of it. “You name it, and we have a shortage on it,” Tom Linebarger, chairman, and chief executive of engine and generator manufacturer Cummins Inc., said on a call this month. Clients are “trying to get everything they can because they see high demand,” Jennifer Rumsey, the Columbus, Indiana-based company’s president, said. “They think it’s going to extend into next year.”

The difference between the big crunch of 2021 and past supply disruptions is the sheer magnitude of it and the fact that there is — as far as anyone can tell — no clear end in sight. Big or small, few businesses are spared.

And now, adding to the global shortage issue, we have all this…

There are other exacerbating issues. Here are just a few examples: •The backup of global shipping in the Suez Canal •Drought •Floods •Straight-line winds •Fires •Deep freezes •Rolling blackouts •The Colonial Pipeline hack

Of course, we have to mention COVID-19 economic damage. This prompted governments worldwide to engage in medieval-like tyranny levels and launch wars against their economies.

Don’t expect global shortages and price spikes to end any time soon

Take a look at the US economic indicator known as the Logistics Managers’ Index, a gauge built on a monthly survey of corporate supply chiefs. Information collected reveals where they foresee transportation, warehouse expenses, and inventory. You see, the current index is at the second-highest level in records dating back to 2016. Nor does the index show any respite in the next year.

“You bring all of these factors in, and it’s an environment that’s ripe for significant inflation, with limited levers” [for monetary authorities to pull], said David Landau, chief product officer at BluJay Solutions, a U.K.-based logistics software, and services provider.

Food prices are rising dramatically too. A United Nations gauge of world food costs climbed for the 11th straight month in April, the highest rise in seven years. Mismanagement of agricultural commodities in the US, weather issues, and a “crop-buying spree” in China led to more continuous price spikes than seen in over a decade.

Global shortages, price spikes, mismanagement, and more are all part of a “plan”

The economic crisis (and it is a crisis) is not simply a matter of corruption or short-sighted politicians. The fact is this is one step of many in an agenda that hatched long ago. It is a plan in which the bottom 99% of the world’s population lives under a complete tyranny with virtually no comforts. Their basic needs met by a government-controlled UBI payment controlled by cashless credits that can be cut off at the first sign of dissent.

This is what the Great Reset is all about. The failures of Free Trade combined with the coming Great Reset will make humanity wish they had given their all to defend their freedom.

We still have the chance to do so. Instead of sheepishly giving away our freedom out of fear and conformity, it’s time to step up.

How are you preparing for the everything shortage?

Are you producing more? Are you adapting to live with fewer choices? Do you have plans to produce more? Have you established a trusted barter network? Let’s discuss it in the comments.

Possibly the greatest Economy in my lifetime and 18 months following we are running out of everything. It is akin to the Oil Crisis of 1974, a load of hogwash.,

After years of zero interest and almost zero inflation….ANY change is going to appear worse than it would have 20 years ago.

I am preparing by shifting back to the seasonal model that served humanity quite well before globalism came along. Grow what you can, buy what you can’t during the relevant growing season, store your food in a shelf-stable form.

If we go through something like the Carter administration, you haven’t seen anything, yet.

This time through we have a propagandistic press and the humorless Wokesters in charge of “entertainment.” We also have investigative reporters beginning to coalesce around the idea that our media is a problem. That helps. The humorless woke Vogans are a problem because our country will need to be able to laugh to get through this.

Keep your family close, and make an effort with the purple-haired and pronoun obsessed, they’ll come around once they see what is what.

He’s not, I’ve been tracking it too. Plan on a garden with heirloom plants, even if you have to do container gardening. Learn to can, alternative heat. Filter water, standard live off the grid/EMP stuff. Ammo, Weapons, non power tools. 100% USA MADE https://tarterusa.com/ BOTTOMLESS horse troughs, fire rings, and where to find a dealer. Water collection.

Our soil is junk, we use containers. Pest control for the garden. Found fungus control doesn’t work well. Lost 200 strawberry plants to one.

If you think TP was a big problem food, electricity will be worse. No freezers yet except a few small Chinese pieces of junk. Gas of course will be a issue, BBQ grill charcoal or propane to cook on. Get before inflation hits.

I do the grocery shopping and meat, canned goods are already short, pet food has gone out the roof price wise. Sales are like buy 5 boxes of easy to go stale kiddie cereal doesn’t work for 1 person. Or shelf is empty odd brands you have no idea of quality/taste. You will need basics for baking, seasoning. Rotating your stock is a must. Rice, pasta, dried beans, store well in 5 gal labeled lidded buckets. Look for long term storage items that don’t need a fridge.

Bigger issue is fresh stuff. Milk, eggs, bread, dairy that don’t store long.

My company was just informed by Ruckert Terminals in Baltimore that they WILL NOT be accepting any new inbound shipments for the month of JUNE.
Ruckert is one of the largest break bulk facilities on the east coast of the US. This is where the huge cargo ships from Europe come into the US. My company ships millions of board feet of lumber through this port. This means a greater shortage of lumber in the eastern US.
FYI, break bulk is cargo that is NOT in a container.
Baltimore is one of the largest ports on the east coast.

Prepper Ping – 'The Great Reset” - a shortage of everything-not just a supply chain breakdown
from: “The Organic Prepper”

“Global shortages, price spikes, mismanagement, and more are all part of a “plan” (Great Reset)
“The economic crisis (and it is a crisis) is not simply a matter of corruption or short-sighted politicians.
The fact is this is one step of many in an agenda that hatched long ago.
It is a plan in which the bottom 99% of the world’s population lives under a complete tyranny with virtually no comforts.
Their basic needs met by a government-controlled UBI payment controlled by cashless credits
that can be cut off at the first sign of dissent.”(Economic control of the masses)

”This is what the Great Reset is all about.
The failures of Free Trade combined with the coming Great Reset will make humanity wish they had given their all to defend their freedom.”

”We still have the chance to do so.
Instead of sheepishly giving away our freedom out of fear and conformity, it’s time to step up” (Prep now!).
“How are you preparing for the everything shortage? “

(My Comment) : “Normalcy Bias” is a social construct built up around currently existing civil and social interactions and expectations
that we have come to believe will last indefinitely; however, it isn't necessarily so.

Recent examples of this social and economic breakdown can be found in this hemisphere in Socialist Venezuela, and in Argentina, as well as at our own southern border with Mexico.

Identify and define your immediate and long-term goals.
Think logically, and not with a 'knee-jerk reaction' when the crisis is staring you right in the face.
Are the goals reachable, and practical ? (ie.: space, storage, limitations, income, fixed expenses, etc.)

Be specific , not just some vague generalization such as food , communication, transportation, security, etc., etc.. Plan now

It is the secure and continuous supply chain that has allowed us to experience prosperity and civil order.
What happens when this supply chain is irretrievably broken down, or controlled only by a single source (ie.: The State), rather than by free trade ?

The “Great Reset” will greatly transform the world as we know it, and is a world-wide plan of unanticipated international control that happens as a result of the “pandemic”.
The time to prepare was yesterday, ..but you can still accomplish much.
Apply the 'OODA Loop' !
See the posted comments to the original OP for additional recent insights

Mine was largely comprised of construction debris, and I’m still pulling bricks out of the ground, but my soil is rallying. It also seems to have opinions about what it will and will not grow ;)

The coming one will make the Carter years seem like a Sunday School picnic. It will make the rationing and shortages of World War 2 and the Depression seem like a feast. But the American People asked for it. President tried to make America prosperous again. The American people said Hell with it and kicked him out and replaced him with an outright Thief. So enjoy.

And like every shortage, it’s man-made.

It’s not due to lack of raw materials.
