Note the more stringent level of p (0.01) rather than the 0.5 used in “statistical fishing” studies.
I lay in the sun 20 minutes a day, 5 minutes a side. Cover my head
K2+D3 (one pill) is good with zinc.
Depends on your latitude how much D you soak in from what I understand
I’ve been using D3, C, Elderberry, Zinc, etc., but even though the K2 is supposed to help with D absorption, I’m concerned about its clotting risk.
Blood clotting?
Anyone here have thoughts on D2 versus D3 supplements? Thanks.
I’m going to need to read and re-read those first few sentences with a fine toothed comb.
I will openly admit to being somewhat flummoxed by the terminologies used. Many of those terms seem to cancel out the other. Now, where did I leave that Thinking Cap?
I don’t see why someone would take D2 instead of D3 unless they were a vegan and concerned about where the Vitamin D comes from. From what I’ve read, D3 is better at raising your level.
And that is a "tell" many of us display.
D3 is drastically superior to D2, much much better absorption.
Only reason for D2 used to be people avoiding animal products (vegan), but there are D3 sources from sheep wool now
Try it yourself and see.
Get some vitamin D.
don’t take the recommended daily amount (RDA) take 10 times that amount for a week straight.
You will notice a difference. You may feel better than you have in years. You could take an entire bottle and it wouldn’t hurt you.
Get some magnesium too! important or else you might get muscle cramps.
I’ve been taking 5000 to 7000 IU of D3 for several months and was taking 3000 IU before that.
so you are suggesting taking 60000 iu's? and no downside?
Before hip replacement surgery last June, my surgeon prescribed D3 for the month prior to surgery and the month after. The dose he gave was 5,000 IUs/day. I felt so good that I never stopped. I get D3 other ways, too, so about a total of 6500 IUs/day now. Knock wood, but I haven’t been sick, or even feeling a little punky. He also prescribed 1,000 of C, which I’ve continued as well.
RDA is 600 IU. You’re already taking 10 times that amount.
D3 is fat soluble, so to make the most of it, have some fat@ the same time.
I take, and have been for years; 3-4000iu/day, at that level and higher, I would recomend taking K2, to put the extra calcium where it belongs.
You need K2 to help D3 absorption, not K1. K1 is the supplement associated with blood clotting.
RDA is more or less middle-of-the-bell-curve to prevent deficiency, I’ve read. It is not necessarily the best amount.
Just like a high-end sports car might run on 87 octane, but...
