That will buff out.
Looks like it has been in an accident before because that looks like bondo on the left front fender.
That’s going to take a lot of buffing.
How can you tell that the oil needs topping up in a Jaguar... It stops leaking.
Either Leno or Shaq can add it to their collection and get it rebuilt.
Good thing restoring a vehicle is free or it would probably cost more to restore it than it would be worth.
And the cost of rebuilding a car with original parts that now sell for hyperinflated prices because when complete the car will sell for 250k?
A new windshield alone probably costs $1,000.
Brit cars have bonets and boots, not hoods and trunks.
Kind of representative of an average Brit’s teeth.
The final restoration cost of that car will be $225-250-275k
That grille will be a hard restoration or very difficult to replace. I’ve restored Mustangs and finding parts for a 65’ and 66’ was difficult thirty years ago. These days much easier because of the Internet. I doubt there are many reproduction grilles for this Jaguar available.
I think I’ll pass on this lucrative opportunity.
I’m not sure what the difference between an XK and an XK 150 is, but I had a chance to buy an XK convertible in 1966 for $300. It looks like they both had a similar DOHC in-line 6. My parents talked me out of it, and I bought a Ford station wagon for $200, instead. I’ve since seen an XK like that one in a classic car museum, but no ford station wagons like the one I had.
An expert car restorer can take the XK150, make a new chassis, new doors, and new everything. Take a few weeks to do so.
The problem is whether a car with 100% new parts is the same car? The answer is, Yes, because the car with 100% new parts occupies the same space as the car with old parts.
But why waste time with the XK150? The 2020 Mustang Shelby GT350R is a much better value.
Electricity served by Lucas the prince of darkness.
I owned four Jaguars in my miss spent youth.
They were in order:
1960 XK 150 S roadster.
1957 Mk 7 sedan.
1966 E type roadster.
1966 E type coupe.
The Xk 150 had the E type 3.8 with three SU carbs.
That’s an even better midlife crisis than buying a sailboat.
Maybe I should sell my red 2005 S-Type with 89,600 miles on it and in near perfect condition.
Actually, a 2005 Toyota Camry with a V6 sells for as much or more.
That reversed mirror could be helpful to oncoming drivers.
