How can you tell that the oil needs topping up in a Jaguar... It stops leaking.

My buddy had a 1969 Type E 2 + 2.
That six cylinder took 15 quarts of oil.
4.2L straight 6 with DOHC and dual carbs. Inhaled premium fuel.
I drove it at a sustained 105mph for 200 miles on I5. Flawless.
It was like being in a space ship for that era...circa 1974.
Of course now you can do that in a Honda Civic.
