Some of our best paid CEOs are failing miserably to remember what a business is for.
Maybe we should call it "the pause that doesn't refresh" anymore. At least, a lot of people are saying that as they overlook Coke for something else. This is the latest from the long list of companies who listen to "the wokes" in H.R. rather than the customers who keep them in business. Check this out:
Mere weeks after going public with stern words about the new election law in Georgia, Coca-Cola has become far more muted in its corporate bellowing. Now, we know why. A new poll has come out to show more than pushback from select citizens has taken place; there is widespread rejection of the company's bold pronouncement, becoming just the latest in a growing list of companies who have suffered self-imposed, negative PR.
What a bunch of sissies, if I'm still allowed to use that word in this cancel culture.
First, they don't read the law and go on TV to repeat the talking points that the wokes gave them. Second, they run away when the cash registers stop ringing.
The question is, why do they do it? Nobody consumes a soft drink to endorse or reject a political idea. We have elections and debates to do that. We consume this or that because we like it and not much more.
When will the shareholders rise? I guess they will when the next quarterly earnings come in and their checks are a little smaller.
Once upon a time, I took business courses in school and learned that a company's mission is to make the best product or offer the best service in the market.
As Peter Drucker wrote: "The purpose of business is to create and keep a customer."

No more coke.
Coke is no longer on my shopping list
Let your wallet participate in your voting preferences.
My wife is a Diet Coke junkie and today she is buying Diet Pepsi at Costco instead of Coke!!
Considering that the last cola wars were fought over 0.01% of market share shows how seriously they take market share. That said Coke is in no danger of dying or even being damaged significantly.
I bought a case of Coke a couple days before their stupidity began. I’m not even drinking that. I accidentally ordered a Coke at a restaurant the other day and caught myself in time to change to ice tea
I eat a lot of junk food. Unfortunately I have to drink the diet stuff and the only choice at most places is Diet Coke! (There is water I suppose but I like having something with more than that)
Diet Pepsi is much better. Also, Diet Mt. Dew is the bomb and the knockoffs are just as good.
I’ve found that iced tea is so much cheaper at home that I’ll probably never go back.
They made a terrible mistake that will cost them market share for a generation to come
Quit soft drinks years ago, but had to remove Dasani water and Power Ade sports drinks from my products used after I saw a larger list of Coke company products.
I am looking forward to them cutting their stock dividends.

Have a Gulag and a smile!
I can’t imagine why a company would politicize itself when it sells something as discretionary and non-essential as soft drinks.
Ice tea or coffee is about 90% of hat I drink with the occasional Mountain Dew and formerly Coke.
I burn through a couple gallons of ice tea a week. Sweet tea is my favorite but I rarely drink it.
5 for $11 at food lion this week. Last week it was buy 2 get 3 free. Plenty of coke on the shelves. Disanti is coke. Aquafina is pepsi. .
Their stock price is at a high for the year. Shareholders won’t rise up.
I found a great cola at ALDI...Since I am not loyal to brands, it works out fine.
I don’t even drink cola, but I have it here for company
