My friendās husband wonāt let her visit any friends or family. He has made her stop all contact with them unless itās on the phone or computer. He reads, monitors and often deletes things on social media.
He makes her feel like sheās going crazy for thinking heās controlling, and that she is being ungrateful. (After all, heās only doing this because of how much he cares about her.)
He doesnāt want her going to the gym anymore, so she doesnāt go. He also doesnāt let her go to work anymore (he told her to only rely on him for income and that he will take care of her).
Sheās not really allowed to go out anymore, unless itās for necessities, and when she does, he makes sure to have people guilt trip her about it and shame her for it.
He wants her to have this medical procedure done and tells her that if she does it, he will allow her more freedoms.
He constantly says heās only doing all of this because he cares... he is just doing it for her own good.
Oh wait....did I say husband? I meant the government.
My bad.
You have been conditioned to be outraged if another person did this to their spouse, but be passive & compliant when it comes to our government.

And if she gets out of line, he will send twenty heavily armed swat team members and frogmen to drag her out of her house, all the while having CNN filming it so it can be shown to all of her friends and neighbors.
A great thing to pass along! I was thinking, “What a controlling, manipulative, power freak”! And I was right.
For those in blue states, they are being held hostage and abused.

This is seriously brilliant! I started reading and could feel my blood pressure rising (thinking it was a wife). We are all the abused wives now... every single one of us.

Best friend was in a relationship just like that for real.
Years later, in conversation about it, wondering what wouldāve happened had it gone on- it didnāt - someone commented that sheād be dead, one way or another.Changed her completely, though.
Why leave out tgat he brings his criminal āfriendsā over and puts no such rules on them?
