“There are huge strides being made in aging biology” that point to ways that we can potentially slow the aging process, says Steele, 35, whose research focuses on the ways that the body ages at a cellular level.
“We have loads and loads of different ways in the lab to slow down and reverse this process.”

Those are things that may help until Democrats pass a bill ordering the director of U.S. Department of Health and Human Services to set expiration dates for all non-government employees.
Frankly I think this is crap. Science is clear. If you want to slow down aging, stop eating. The more you eat, the more you age. Exercise may be in this list because fat people don’t exercise. But its correlation not causal. Eating less, and especially fewer carbs will also help your dental health. Sugars, and starch decay your teach. Meat does not. Lab mice who are on very restrictive calorie diets live as much as 3 times longer than fat mice. And longevity due to low calorie diets has been tested in most animals including humans.

God bless you, running to man’s “ science” instead of God is foolishness of the greatest order. There is no doubt America is experiencing judgement, and the only way out at this point is revival.....biblical history shows revival only comes to the hard headed by bringing them to their knees. What has happened to America, blessed by God for so many years?
I’m learning not to eat and drink to excess. But I feel better than ever at 73 years old. I plan to live a long and satisfying life up to 120 years old.
My mom lived to 102 but I want to get off around 72
The last time I exercised was in 1957 basic training. Regular sleep is unknown to me and I am 82 years old. Hardly look 60 my kids tell me, however I feel 90 so there you go.
I’m going for 101, anybody can make it to 100. :)
I’m older than you. Here is a conversation from a few days ago:
Her (she’s 20 and describing another guy): He’s an old guy.
Me: I’m an old guy.
Her: Not like you, an old guy!
Me: How old?
She gives me an age 4 years older than me.
Me: How old do you think I am?
Her response is off by over 30 years.
Ha ha. Happens all the time.
I had a 21 year old girlfriend when I was in my mid 50’s.
I have no complaints.
Thank you. Probably time for me to try that.
Likewise. I supplement vitamin D3 and use a 'happy light' through the dark season. It helps a lot.
This must be why dogs only live for about 15 years.
Actually you made my point about exercise. Fat people hate exercise and that is the main reason they die earlier.
Exercise helps speed up metabolism and helps you lose weight much faster.
As for eating vegetarian diet, that food sticks less between teeth than strands of meat. Bacteria in mouth grow faster on meat stuck between teeth than a piece of corn, carrot or rice. In any case the most important ritual in everyone’s life should be flossing. That is much more important than simply brushing. The bacteria growing in food stuck between teeth invade gum tissue much more easier than the hard as diamond tooth enamel. Many more teeth are lost due to gum disease than tooth decay.
But if one is sedentary and overweight, meat prominent diet will delay onset of Diabetes-2. So low carb diet has that one thing going for it.
Again, i got rid of my own border line diabetic condition with lots of exercise. From age 60 to 75 I played 5 rounds of 18 holes 5 days every week. That cured my borderline diabetic situation, lowered blood pressure to under 130, cured my hip joint and knee joint pain, got rid of panic attacks in closed malls or stores, and even got rid of getting a cold or flu every year. I ate mostly carbs. That is what I am used to. Growing up in India, my family ate meat only on Sundays. Chickens had to be bought live so rarely used. We did eat fresh fish or prawns once a week. There was no refrigeration anywhere.
My mother lived to 103, but she was bed ridden for half a dozen years before passing. I do not wish to live long after my current athletic physical condition at age 81, disappears.
If you can believe me, so long as I am exercising 35 minutes 6 days every week, currently I am taking no supplements except 1 vitamin pill daily. As the body became strong, all bone joint pains have gone away.
At age 81 I feel way better than at age 55. I can pass any lie about my age. Most often they guess my age as 65. But it is not just the facial looks I care about. What I am so impressed about is I could join a ballet class this summer and not be laughed out of the class.
True dat.
My mother was totally ambulatory right up to the moment she fell and broke her hip. Then the inevitable follows two or three months later when they are that age.
Losing teeth is no problem. It is the bacteria growing between teeth are the ones which will attack the heart.
My biggest joy at age 81 is need zero prescriptions, have zero pains anywhere in my 5’-8” body weighing 155 lbs, and looking to join a ballet dance class without getting laughed out of class. It is such a joy to have a spring in the steps and have the balance of a ballet dancer. It was not that way at age 55. I was a basket case of physical issues, then.
