I still have my Grandfathers WWII USMC uniform. Of course I don’t fit into it, and wouldn’t wear it anyway, as I never served.

The old sifters with the crank ... I lost mine when we relocated years ago. It was the best.

“Mad Men” was fun to watch just for the clothes and style. Took me back to high school. Now it’s “vintage”. :( Guess I’m vintage.

Even if it’s a documentary, people are dressed well walking the streets of the major cities. Nowadays wearing a long sleeved shirt and dress pants or khakis looks dressy in comparison to the shorts/T-shirt look.

Sometimes old films from the 1900-1960 era appear on my Youtube feed. Nice to see folks out in public dressed nicely, with women in dresses or stylish pants, and men in suits and hats. But then I think about how hot it gets here in southeast Texas in the summer.

Speaking of the 1940s, just watched this classic again this morning...

I love women’s 40s hairstyles, pretty much the last decade when spending a LOT of time on women’s hair resulted in something better looking than a more au-naturel look. I was rather surprised at how plain Hayley Atwell looks (besides her implants) simply because I first saw her as Peggy Carter in Captain America.

They look so nice.

I miss dressing up as I did, even in the 80s.

I am watching Foyle’s War and marveling at the great clothes. I see them recycled through the series.

Love the pre 60s looks

Reminds me of a YouTube married couple. “Lost in the pond”, and “Old Fashioned AF”. He is British and she is American.

I love the old vintage stuff. I feel like I’m back at Grandma’s house “helping” in the kitchen, where she was a pro. The old tools are comforting in so many ways. Simpler times. Fewer agendas. Whole lotta love.

there was a couple in this area who were featured. They loved the 1700s. They built a 1700s house, with a small area for needed appliances.

When they came home from work they changed into their 1700s clothing and lived the life. Everyday.

They loved it.

I’m afraid to think what would happen to that sailor if modern day feminists existed back then.

People wore masks in the 40s and 50s?

Sure, and even earlier...

That good? I picked up the three hardback volumes at a book sale last autumn and they're in my big stack of reads awaiting.

Worth moving to the top of the stack?
