Company President Brent Jones on Wednesday called for stores to stop selling the product “throughout the United States until the issue is resolved.”
“Our goal is to diligently work with the FDA to achieve a swift resolution,” a statement from Jones said.
The U.S. Food and Drug Administration warned consumers, restaurants and retailers not to drink, cook with, sell or serve the product, the Southern Nevada Health District said in a statement posted Tuesday.
Real Water is marketed in boxy blue plastic bottles as mineral-rich and “alkalized” and “infused with negative ions.”
Acute non-viral hepatitis is a liver inflammation that can be caused by exposure to toxins, autoimmune disease or drinking too much alcohol, the district said. Symptoms can include fever, fatigue, loss of appetite, nausea, vomiting, abdominal pain, dark urine, light-colored stools, joint pain and yellow skin or eyes.
The district advised people experiencing symptoms to contact their health care provider.

OK I’ll have to do some research on this, kid.
I’ve heard of this alkalized water before. In fact there was a store next to one of my favorite Chinese restaurants that sold all kinds of products that were supposed to “raise your body pH level” under the theory that a higher pH would kill off cancer cells or something like that.
I don’t know if it is true or not, but I suspect that drinking alkalized water isn’t going to do much of anything at all except maybe make you sick in the stomach... or liver.
The body has mechanisms that attempt a blood pH of 7.45-7.55.
It’s marketing BS.
Oops, 7.35 - 7.45.
Nope. I've done it all my life, and so do my kids.
Yes, kids are baby goats, and children are less-than adult humans.
I think we are just showing our age.
Why not just drink ammonia?
It's straight tap water for me, fluoride and all. Yummy!
Seems normal to me.
Is this like the idiots who made themselves sick by consuming huge amounts of anti-oxidants? They thought that would help them live forever.
Oh dear, I’ve got several bottles of that water. I’ve never had a problem with it. Now I have to decide if I want to toss them out or finish them.

Even when I was one, I thought the term was dismissive and, depending on who was using it, maybe even a little derogatory ("They're just kids.")
That said, I could be showing my age too!
Oh please, there’s nothing wrong with REAL water...I drink half a gallon every day (sometimes more) and have all my life.
Lots of folks, I am sure.
“Nope. I’ve done it all my life, and so do my kids.”
Same here - they’re my KIDS, and then only when I’m in a good mood.
So much for your purity of essence.
I saw a guy with blue tinted skin a few weeks ago. I assumed he took too much colloidal silver to prevent covid. It looked very odd.
