To anyone that complains about using a crossbow because it’s not “real” hunting, I show them a rifle. If you also use this, then shut up.
Bow hunting in general is great. So is gun hunting. It’s all great.
I’ve met countless hunters young and old who can’t use a compound bow anymore because it blew out their shoulder.

I just want something that will drop a racoon on the top of my garbage cans without waking the neighbors. Is there something that isnt a toy out there for 3-400?

Ludicrous. There is no “line”. If someone wants to own and hunt with these gizmos...more power to them.

I have an excaliber recurve crossbow. Thing is accurate, but not as quiet as you think. This is cool though.....

As a former bowhunter who used a primitive bow, I have no issue with the modern crossbows as long as they don’t hunt in the archery season. If you want to use one to hunt, use it in the general season.

Been thinking of getting one of those Garmin sights for my vertical hunting bow. The cost makes me back up a bit.
Hunting for me has ALWAYS been about putting meat in my freezer and has never been about “trophies”... So I don’t really have a dog in that fight.
As for what I can own... It’s ain’t anyone else’s business as per 2A.

Heck no it isn't overkill. It won't be overkill until an autonomous robot takes it out into the weeds, kills the deer, guts it, butchers it, and delivers it back to me in little styrofoam tray and plastic wrap packages.
I'll still want one.
