I wanted to purchase a new saute pan to replace my old one. My cooking gear is very important to me, so I did a lot of research until I chose the pot I wanted. And then I found this very expensive pot ON SALE! Whoo-hoo! I tried to order the pot on Wayfair, only to find that other pot connoisseurs had beaten me to all available stock at that terrific sale price. I'd have to wait for the next shipment. That date kept changing, getting delayed. I did some searching and found the pot was also being sold at Target.com, online only, for the same sale price. But it was also out of stock. I signed up at both websites to be notified when it came in. So an hour ago, I received emails from both Target and Wayfair that the pot had come back in stock. I'd only had to wait about 6 weeks, that's all.
I was ecstatic, and went first to Target's website via the link in their email. I tried to put the pot into my cart, only to see a message appear: Sorry, this can't be shipped to your zip code. In a box below was the word Why? I clicked on the box containing Why? and the following appeared:
"We work hard to offer the same selection to all our guests, but some items have shipping restrictions based on zip code."
So now I am being discriminated against because of my zip code? I live in a decent neighborhood and I can't order something because of my zip code?
I'd like to hear from some FRiends whether they've had any experiences like this, whether with Target or another store. And I'm going to inquire of Maryland's state consumer advocate whether this is legal. I think Target is now off my list of stores to shop in.
Wayfair had no qualms about my zip code, although they were charging $4 more for the pot now that it's back in stock. Well worth it to get my pot shipped to MY zip code without prejudice.
Could you order it to be shipped to a store? I’m thinking that your zip code might be known as a ‘happy hunting ground’ for crooks.
Could be sales channel rules by the manufacturer. Protecting the territory of another distributor.

it sounds like a geographical discrimination lawsuit if I ever heard of one. What if consumers started to quit paying their Target credit card purchases because of the headquarters zip code?

Target is a completely leftard company. Example, there was a memo to put Biden and Harris books at the end cap of the book section. he personally went there and placed other books himself. Another memo came in to make sure the posters of BLACK personalities are on display at the HR office for everyone to see for Black History Month. Instead of pictures, he just put ONE poster of Black Hstory Month lol. The worst was for Michelle “Big Mike” obama, and he refused that one.
What you simply should have done is re-route the address to another mailing address and see if the shipping algorithm changes.

I had a similar experience trying to order a cheese free pizza from Round Table Pizza. I ended up calling Extreme Pizza instead. I guess my neighbors don’t tip enough for Round Table.

I stopped going to Target several years ago. They was woke before there was woke. They are on a very long list. In fact the list is so long I can’t remember who I will and will not patronize.
They will if you pay shipping.
I have the problem all the time.
I live in rural Hawaii and there is no USPS
mail delivery direct to my home. They probably can’t find the place anyway. Even UPS or FedEx gets the wrong house.
I did say VERY rural.
I have problems with Amazon,Target, Walmart
Home depot, Lowes, Ebay, Auto zone, you name it.
I have several techniques that I use and over twenty years of doing this, mostly, what you need is perseverance.
I even called up Amazon Hq in Seattle to settle a problem once. Calling the company Hq direct can work but getting to the right person, isn’t all that easy.
Worst case, I send it to a relative on the mainland and have them forward it to me.
You just have to work through it.

Copper is really good for temperature control. In French cooking even being a couple degrees off can ruin a sauce.
Probably because of the weight and/or warehouse location. Maybe a new shipment from China in a CA warehouse and they don’t want to ship to NY?

That sounds like a very reasonable explanation and probably one most people dont think about.
