A pet husky proved what a useless guard dog he was – sleeping through an armed robbery training session at a jewelry store. Hilarious CCTV footage shows the chubby pooch ignoring the thief wielding a fake gun during the simulation in Chiang Ma, Thailand, on February 16. During the alarm training day, a man approached the store counter and pointed a replica at the shop owner. Worawut Lomwanawong, who owned the shop, waited for the pooch named Lucky to spring into life and snarl at the man, who was demanding money at gunpoint. He kept glancing to his side and whispering under his breath to try and rouse the sleepy pooch into action. However, Lucky continued snoozing even when its owner was held at gunpoint and the bag of money was given to the thief. The jeweller said it was funny because the dog cared more about his sleep than guarding the store.

The fail is among the silly hoomans who expected a husky to be a Doberman. We LOVE our Siberian husky. She's the best dog we've ever had. But one thing we know she's not is a guard dog. She loves every stranger she meets!

If the dog was in the shop alone at night and a stranger came in there might be a completely different outcome.

Husky’s aren’t bred for guard dog duty.
They are sled dogs.
Not much snow in Thailand...................

Years ago I had a Samoyed.
She was so friendly to strangers that she became the mascot for our Rotary Club.
When we had charity events she would greet visitors—loved every single one of them, especially kids.
(I had a hound as well—his job was security. :-) )

Must be a breed trait with northern Spitz.

I good friend of mine has a 1 year old Pomeranian named Eva. If you come into the house she’ll lick you to death, but that’s about it.

We have a Rotten Shepherd, a 95 pound bundle of love. We haven't needed a door bell for the past 7 years, she'll bark at the drop of a hat.
She's my shadow whenever I fire up the Traeger, knowing she'll be eating well within a few hours.
Great dog, she's something else around my grandkids...very protective.

ignoring the thief wielding a fake gun during the simulation Here's the problem right here. Dog's so smart, he knew it was a fake and not a threat!

I recall about 30 years ago my late father remarking about our dog who was in the house alone one day when the house was robbed, “Well, that’s some watch dog we’ve got. He sat there and watched the thieves take the TV and VCR”.
