Also note members of ERCOT do NOT have to reside in Texas and suffer the slings and arrows of their folly decisions. THAT should be a requirement to be on the board. Contact the governor/lawmakers over that oversight.

One is reminded of “Baghdad Bob” and his responses to inquiries about Saddam Hussein’s actions.

These are clearly alternative facts. Reality bites much too hard. And it is as relentless as all Hell.

A power system that does not deliver power is not “working as planned.” Jackass.

“Texas will revert to natural gas, this is a godsend.”

The natural gas pumps and lines in Texas are frozen because Texas never winterized them as states up North do so even though there was a commission report in 2012 to do so.

Natural gas still needs an electric delivery system. But I hear you.

Amen to the natural gas! And I’ve about had it with others outside of Texas throwing insults. One I read this morning was “I went to Texas and felt like I had a 3,000 IQ.” I thought well, we need to keep all our energy home where it belongs, and see what the other states think about that.

This is all bad - people are upset enough it could tip close elections next time around. Seriously, people are out for blood. Wind is a joke, but natural gas plants have dropped even more production than wind.

We are praying for you guys. This is not something that would be thought a priority because it’s a once in a lifetime act of nature.

The natural gas pipeline generators were switched to electric.

Works great except when it doesn’t.

The Gas burning power plants RELY on piped in fuel as opposed to keeping a supply on site...the monies spent on solar and wind(which will never break even let alone show a profit)could have easily supplied storage tanks and planned new construction of future plants....they took all the government grants for solar and wind and this is the end result. Simple greed .

Pipeline pumps, not generators.

Funny, it was never necessary before the Pickens, Perry, and Abbott windmill era. All those ice storms in the 70s and 80s never lost power unless lines were down. Or unless a tornado tore everything up.
The Texas Republican Party (Bush) owns this.

No excuses.

As the people of Texas and commonsense Americans everywhere slam ERCOT and Woke Green Energy the Greenies and Libs are circling the wagons and are actually trying to shift the blame to NatGas and coal-fired plants.
This situation is primarily the fault of the Woke Executives on the Board of Directors and state politicians. There was an audit conducted awhile back whose recommendations were never given any serious consideration concerning weatherizing the Texas Power System.

Rich neighborhoods have power. Lower middle class, not so much. (Compare current outages in area code 75205 (Park Cities -593 out) with 75204 (Part of Oak Lawn to Old East Dallas - 3166) and 75206 (East of 75205, north of 75204 - 2325)
