A fight that erupted over snow shoveling allegedly led to a Pennsylvania man shooting two of his neighbors to death, authorities said.
The fatal gun violence occurred in Plains Township, about 15 miles southwest of Scranton after 2 feet of snow blanketed the area, officials said.
Just before 9 a.m. on Monday, Plains Township police officers responded to a report of shots fired in a residential neighborhood and discovered 50-year-old James Goy and his 48-year-old wife, Lisa Goy, lying dead in the street in front of their home, according to a joint statement by Luzerne County District Attorney Stefanie Salavantis and Plains Township Police Chief Dale Binker.
Residents in the area directed police officers to a house across the street from the Goys' home, but as they approached the front door, a gunshot rang out, the officials said. Inside the house, police found 47-year-old James Spaide deceased from an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound, officials said.
Neighbors told investigators that Spaide and the Goys had been engaged in a long-running feud that reached a boiling point on the snowiest day of the year.

"Spaide allegedly opened fire on the couple, shooting both of them multiple times. Officials said Spaide then went back into his house and retrieved another firearm, which he reportedly used to shoot them again."

Funny coincidence about this OLD post: My neighbour is RIGHT THIS MINUTE shovelling the snow from his driveway AND THE STREET into a large pile in the middle of the road. What isn’t going into that pile is being placed (on the street) in front of MY driveway.
Rather than go out and raise hell, I am just going to put the dozer blade on the tiller and push it out of the way, after I’ve spread it out a bit with the F-350. It may end up in his way, but life is life.

Very sad. “a long-running feud” can be dangerous. We all have stories of neighbors from hell.
Adam 12 tv show did an episode where two neighbors owned one boat. The neighbors argued about unfair use of the boat by the other. Officers Reed and Malloy told them to cool it before they get hauled into jail. That night at 11pm the officers were called to the house where one man was dead and the other was distraught holding a gun. The wives were devastated. Bottom line: if neighbors are jerks, then cut all ties and install a huge wall.

I’ve lived in canada and you simply make a WALL/push the pile towards the street so as not to inconvenience your neighbors. Regardless of how much snow there is. It is normal to see 15 foot walls of snow at street level residences.

I’ve been following this story since it happened and still cannot find a photo of the murderer. NO ONE CAN. It’s a bit bizarre even if he was a Navy vet.

Dude, I’m in Victoria. This is the most snow we’ve had in years, and there is less than 20”. I’m not the least bit impressed or angry with his wall-building, just bemused.
He’s the guy that washes the street with his pressure washer after the anti-icing agent is spread before a frost.
I just watch him and thank G_d I’m not quite as coo-coo as he .
