He had previously tried to dislodge the metal clamp by kicking it ineffectually with his trainer-shod foot.
An astonished bystander filmed the man as he put his car into drive and then reverse in an attempt to break free from the clamp.
The immobiliser remained stubbornly on the wheel and caused significant damage to the front fender as well as burning much of the rubber from his tire.
'Realising that he wasn’t doing much, he got back in the car and started to move it around. After getting stuck while reversing, he managed to drive forwards a bit faster, back up, and loosen the boot from the tire.
The car suffered significant damage as the clamp tore its way through the plastic front fender

Now they will tow the remains of his ride for a crazy towing fee, plus...
Parking Wars ,LOL
I’ve wondered if building a little dam with clay and then pouring on liquid nitrogen will cause the metal to shatter with a good sludge hammer strike.
They must be related somehow?
Great minds think alike.
And so do idiots.
This was probably the last feather on his camel’s back. I know a few other loads that are getting heavy.
That sounds like a lot of work that could be prevented by simply parking legally.
He succeeded in destroying the wheel locking device and he simply drove off. Btw, the car was a total beater to begin with.

Suspect the serial number on the clamp is related to the ticket which specified the licence plate.
What I’m sensing is a general increase in anxeity and stress. This could result in somewhere between five and ten out of every 100 people acting out in a violent way. Job losses and fines may result in violence against the uniforms enforcing especially stupid arbitrary rules.
Sitting on the boat just now, catching up on FR, a knock on the hull and a voice: “Police department”.
I threw open the hatch, went out into the cockpit and said “What???”
“Sorry to bother you Chuckster, but your pickup is illegally parked in the snow dump area and we need you to move it.”
“Oh shoot!. I’ll be right there.”
Throw on a coat and walk up to find the police and a snow plow waiting for me to move the old F150 so they can push the snow bank into the water.
I apologized. They apologized. They thanked me. I thanked them. They said “Have a good one” I said “Don’t work too hard” and my streak holds. I have not had a ticket, even for parking, since 1985.
(How would that have gone down where you live?)
It’s not that difficult. There are multiple videos on YouTube showing how to remove these things.
Btw, the car was a total beater to begin with.
I come from a long line of beater drivers, before that they were horse traders out of the Scottish Highlands.
A good beater is not a throwaway unless you absolutely have to let it go.
And in this case, they know exactly where he lives and will send a hook.
Let the first few owners eat the depreciation.
Good observation. It seems that when a person is down, there is no end of the people lined up to kick him. Many years ago when I was struggling, there were some hard times when nothing seemed to go right, no matter how hard I tried to do the right thing. Thanks to God all of that is way past.
“He should have just carried a key with him.”
A friend than owns such a tool calls it his ‘burglar bottles’.
You’re on a boat when it’s snowing outside?
Dude!
I am looking to sell everything and go live on a boat
I think that is my favorite Simpsons episode of all time.
