As COVID-19 continues to spread, researchers are looking for new and creative ways to help detect and manage cases. A team at the University of California San Diego is developing something to help do just that: a color-changing sticker.
The sticker is a test strip and blister pack that can be placed on N95, surgical or cloth masks and detect SARS-CoV-2 in the user's breath or saliva, according to a news release from the university.
As the person wearing the mask breathes, the test strip aims to detect protein-cleaving molecules produced from a COVID-19 infection. Once the user removes the mask and test materials, they squeeze out the contents of the blister pack onto the test strip. If the test strip turns a specific color, it means infection molecules are present.

Your bat will be ready in a few months?
I do not want masks.
How much? Won’t this replace other tests?
That would let a LOT of people know they are infected but asymptomatic or very mildly symptomatic.
Would support the claims we’ve reached 80% herd immunity.
The production of counterfeit devices will commence in 3...2...1...
Kinda like marking leper’s in biblical times....
Does that mean they really don’t have to shove a swap to your brain to find out if you have the virus?
May I be exempt from wearing these color changing masks if I wear a mood ring?
Remember mood rings? COVID masks will be equally reliable.
LOL, didn’t see your mood ring reference before posting!
I suggest yellow, six pointed stars appear on the front of masks...
This is useless. It won’t determine if you have the virus or if you have been exposed the virus from the environment.
exposed TO the virus
Theranos, anyone?
Heed the law of unintended consequences.
I merely mentioned putting a yellow star on a mask on FB and my stupid @$$ lib brother-in-law had a cow and kicked me out of the family I was born into.
Not surprising. It is difficult to disagree with someone without being disagreeable to them. Especially if they have made their minds up already. I have a policy of not discussing politics with anyone, unless they are willing to stipulate “freedom of speech” before you even start. Even then, one has to move slowly and very carefully in expressing your own opinions. It is better to let them rant their propaganda and then just say that ‘management does not necessarily agree with the content of your discussion’. However, the best policy is to not discuss politics or religion with anyone unless they really ask for it with the pre-agreed to conditions. (get it in writing if it is that important).
A big yellow star appears......with a number below.
I strongly recommend reading all of the works of Dr. Moshe Avital, a Holocaust Survivor who has written many books on the evolution of the conditions that led to it. He recently passed away, but I recommend his last two books “Hope, Faith, and Resilience” and “Can There Be Forgiveness for the Holocaust”. Moshe was/is a dear friend, whom I first met in Jerusalem, and who does a great job of explaining how a Survivor views God and how he was personally treated during those times. Even though I am not Jewish, I have learned much about my own walk with God and how we can deal with the tough times that we all go through. Good luck to you. Dealing with obnoxious, liberal relatives is the easiest thing in the world to do..
I appreciate that, thanks.
