I Just Had The Pfizer Vaccine
1/14/2021 | Nikos1121

I think people here know that I’m a doctor.

I just completed the second shot of the two dose Pfizer vaccine. I felt virtually nothing after the first shot and nothing after the second shot given about 15 hours ago.

The injection consists of only 0.3 ml. Contrast that with the flu vaccine that is 0.5 ml.

The first shot helps your body recognize the virus, and the second revs up your immune system.

As you know, 99% of those infected with the virus recover fully. On the other hand there is a small percentage that recover but not fully. We call these people “long haulers.”

You might want to read up about them as many are formally very healthy even athletic.

Don’t be afraid of this shot. I recommend that you take it when it becomes available.

I was one of the first to get it and that was by choice. I had to sit in a holding area for 15 minutes after the shot. I am aware of two adverse reactions thus far. One gal ended up on a vent after throat swelled up. The other was OK after benadryl, steroids, and maybe pepcid and epinephrine. It’s a massive amount of vaccinations. There will be adverse reactions. That’s probably the only risk IMO, allergic reactions. I’m in Ohio too btw.

It isn’t deadly because it’s deadly, it’s extremely deadly because it’s extremely transmissible.

That's what is so scary about the he 501.V2 variant, also known as 20C/501Y.V2, B.1.351 lineage or colloquially the South African COVID-19 variant (no offense).

From Wiki

Scientists noted that the variant can attach more easily to human cells because of three mutations in the receptor-binding domain (RBD) in the spike glycoprotein of the virus: N501Y (a change from asparagine (N) to tyrosine (Y) in amino-acid position 501), K417N, and E484K.[10][11] Two of these mutations, E484K and N501Y, are within the receptor-binding motif (RBM) of the receptor-binding domain (RBD).

Not sure what all that means, but it sure sounds onimus.

with the second one I had some fatigue and slept a lot the next day. That was the worst of it. My daughter had myalgia and chills and felt pretty miserable for 24 hours but as she put it abs was not as bad as the patient with covid she intubated that day.... puts it in perspective. I’m guessing younger people may have more in the way of symptoms due to a stronger immune system....

The latter would describe family I had who passed recently. They were in a convalescence home. They had diabetes, obesity, several strokes, Alzheimer’s, I mean, just name it. He was late 70’s. He had COVID 2 times over the summer. Recovered and cleared after multiple tests. Died in November of a UTI. Blood pressure dropped during prep for a test and that was it.

So, I think if I were you, I’d wait at least 6 months up to one year, after you had the virus, and get the vaccine.

That's my plan. But, since the researchers and epidemiologists still have no clue about long-term immunity, but, perhaps they'll eventually get the answers, and hopefully it turns out to be a lifetime immunity from getting the virus through infection.

BTW, I'm 75, and the symptoms were minor compared to what the flue has done to me in the past. But, I'm not looking forward to another Covid-19 bout.

WE had a run of Pertussis at the hospital. I think they just gave me a DPT booster.

You are correct.
It is extremely transmissible because it is brand new lab created virus.
Best way to develop immunity is to acquire a small dose of virus cells and let the body create immunity. Our bodies have been doing that since our ancestors Lucy lived in Olduvai gorge in east Africa. Growing up in virus infested India, I never even came down with flu during my 60 years in USA.

Let’s see I’ve had:

1. Polio vaccine
2. Small pox vaccine
3. Didn’t get vaccines, but had rebella, rubeola and mumps as a kid.
4. DPT vaccine
5. Oodles of flu shots over the year.
6. First shingles booster
7. Covid

I would gather, that people in the military have had three times as many shots than me.

The question is, will mutations in the receptor binding domain of the spike protein, which the mRNA vaccines target, be sufficient to evade the antibodies that result from the vaccine. Will the line hold IOW. I have read that the general belief is that it will but, even if it doesn’t, the heavy lifting is already done. It wouldn’t be hard to modify the vaccine for a new virus. That’s one of the nice things about mRNA vaccines, they’re rapidly adaptable. Of course, that would mean another round of shots.

That results in an unacceptable number if deaths. While it isn’t the deadliest virus in the world, it is still capable of killing people obviously. The vaccine is the best solution. I’ve already had dose 1. Dose 2 is next week. I’ve had no issues.

"I WOULD CONSIDER TAKING THE VIRUS, IF I’M LIVING IN A LOCKED DOWN, BLUE STATE."

I think you meant "vaccine" not virus.

I would suggest Blue Staters get their vaccine in a Red State.

Perhaps he was on his way to get tested for the virus? If that were the case his death would have certainly been attributed to and counted as “due to the virus”.

Wow, that is incredible. And the timing could not be better. The covid-19 vaccines really haven’t been put to the true test of T-Cell memory/reactivity.

But the DTP by all appearances creates considerable, significant, cross reactive T-Cells.

I’d say you were lucky but I somehow remember being real little and getting that DTP shot so it must have really hurt!

Ummm - I started second line with “I’m not a fan...”

Since you failed to digest that, I’m gonna say you proved my point about emotions running how folks comment on anything Covid/Vaccine

A lot of prevention (of worst case scenarios) for covid 19 can be started at home cheaply before contracting it.

Normal sized adult should take 5000 IU a day of vitamin D3 starting yesterday. This should in a couple weeks build your blood levels over 60. (Avoid supplementing daily if most of your body gets sunshine for over an hour a day.)

Keep vitamin b levels up by eating healthy meat and animal products. Take magnesium glycinate or citrate supps.

Purchase quercetin, vitamin c, aspirin, Advil, and zinc lozenges to take when you get sick. Purchase a desktop nebulizer, sterile water, and 12% food grade hydrogen peroxide. Learn how to dilute and nebulize HP and the second you know you’re sick with covid, stsrt nebulizing 4x a day, more if you feel any heaviness in the chest. Up to once an hour. This will prevent pneumonia. Keep doing it til you know you are well. 10 mins a time.

Also take the other supplements above the second you know you are sick, except the Advil: that is only for taking if you have the intense body pains like I did. I didn’t know about Advil getting rid of that agony easily. But once I started Advil, those severe pains were gone.

No docs, hospitals, etc needed. Cost effective and healthful.

I agree - I have my own back-of-the-mind concerns but have not seen any factual statistics that say it’s dangerous for the majority to take it. My wife will likely get it before I make my decision and that causes me no angst.

When folks start here star with the “Mark of the Beast” and other crap, you know their minds are not engaged and they are running on hysteria and emotions.

Then they wonder why a “Conservative” forum ain’t making the difference it could be making....as they act anything but like level-headed conservatives.
