Cupertino, California — Apple today announced a set of major new projects as part of its $100 million Racial Equity and Justice Initiative (REJI) to help dismantle systemic barriers to opportunity and combat injustices faced by communities of color. These forward-looking and comprehensive efforts include the Propel Center, a first-of-its-kind global innovation and learning hub for Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs); an Apple Developer Academy to support coding and tech education for students in Detroit; and venture capital funding for Black and Brown entrepreneurs. Together, Apple’s REJI commitments aim to expand opportunities for communities of color across the country and to help build the next generation of diverse leaders.
“We are all accountable to the urgent work of building a more just, more equitable world — and these new projects send a clear signal of Apple’s enduring commitment,” said Tim Cook, Apple’s CEO. “We’re launching REJI’s latest initiatives with partners across a broad range of industries and backgrounds — from students to teachers, developers to entrepreneurs, and community organizers to justice advocates — working together to empower communities that have borne the brunt of racism and discrimination for far too long. We are honored to help bring this vision to bear, and to match our words and actions to the values of equity and inclusion we have always prized at Apple.” Jared Bailey wearing AirPods and holding an iPad. Jared Bailey, a senior at Morehouse College, has integrated Apple’s coding and creativity curricula into his public health and community service work as part of the school’s partnership with Apple, a collaboration that is expanding further with the launch of the Propel Center.
Last June, Apple announced REJI in the wake of protests around the world following the killings of Breonna Taylor, George Floyd, and countless others.

And this will improve product innovation, quality, and delivery...how?
Gee, I guess all the people of color in that group didn’t show up for the photo op...eh?
Yes, it is the latest Fad. I work in Academia, and that threefold buzzphrase runs rampant.
There’s just not much you can do with that 85 IQ.

Let’s see... American children are falling behind so in response we need to prioritize teaching them some fantasy that was invented a few years ago. Tim Apple is deliberately trying to make American minorities as uneducated and incapable as possible. The only possible objective is to keep them on the Left plantation.
The last Apple product I owned was an Apple II. Dropped them like a bad habit when they went closed a ND propietary architecture.
Whatever you replace it with will do the same BS as Apple. The corporations will either be spending these dollars because they are woke, or because they feel the need to pay protection money.
Their customer base is pretty much the same. If they really want to do something, they should sell iPhones at walmart in the big cities for $100.00
Make that Dollar stores

IMO Apple should stick to what it does best, and stay the hell out of Social Justice projects.
“...IMO Apple makes great computing devices, OS software, application software.

Agree. Great products, but like all libs, once they get a money & power, they just can’t help themselves...they gotta do it. Moronic. I’m up for a new phone probably this spring...guess what it WON’T be.
So should all the big tech giants, who are doing this same thing.
Xe worm makes users sick.
It won't be America made no matter what you get. But at least you can brag about how much you hate Apple and Apple users. If acting like Samsung or any other computer product is made by tiny over paid elves that loves America makes you feel better, rave on.
If you look around maybe you will find all the large corporations that supported or supports Trump, there should be no end of them. Or maybe one that supports you and your fellow agitators.
Indeed it is. Finally figured it out a couple of years ago. Equality of outcomes. Except in their toys and pay. Always the best to the more equal than others.
