I’ve been here for 20 years, and I read all of the mocking of the “dinosaur media”. But they’re still there, and they’ve convinced a huge number of Americans that:
Orange man bad.
Russia helped the orange man.
All white people are privileged and racist.
Socialism is your friend.
Revenue is irrelevant. Bezos didn’t buy the WP to make money. The propaganda is powerful.
Maybe-but also, the MSM had NO comprehension of who or what Trump was...they still do not!
1. THE MSM wouldn’t take him seriously but instead, they believed their own hype on his candidacy. It cost them.
2. The MSM has been wholly out-of-touch with Americans for decades. The Trump candidacy and Presidency proves it beyond all measure.
Nothing the MSM says matters to the ‘man on the street’.
I have to disagree. Even if their ratings are in the tank, they still drive the weak minds of tens or hundreds of millions of viewers, or people who listen to the opinion of viewers.
It’s like Lennox Lewis a couple of times. He thought the guy he was fighting had no chance so he didn’t really prepare.
It turned out badly.
He Prepared Very Hard for the rematches and slaughtered the guys.
Only difference is Lewis did it by hard work and renewed determination.

It has been a hate fest ever since. The millions of people who consume only the Marxist press decided between two false portrayals: the fake competent Biden that they saw in his ads and the falsely portrayed Trump who seemingly did nothing of value for four years and is responsible for Covid deaths in the USA.
On the other hand, we can have a guy shoot at cop cars with a rocket launcher and then get killed by return fire and the media will just cut out the rocket launcher part and announce that the cops were criminals. And it would stick.

Actually, one is a very good friend. He’s a bright guy, and gets his information the old fashioned way, the evening news on tv.

Not a psychiatrist, never stayed at holiday in, but I think I see the problem.
No one has standing. It’s expensive to buy an election. America’s enemies on the left tried to do it this year, but they had a backup plan. It’s much cheaper to buy a state’s Secretary of State and a few judges in each state, plus perhaps a few key US Senators. No portion of our government has legitimacy - all they have is power and only as much of that as we allow.
It wasn’t any different.
It’s just that more consumers were buying what they were selling then.
Seriously, take a look at circulation figures, ratings and demos now and what they used to be over the years.
Thanks to the enemedia’s overweening hubris and abject stupidity, the enemedia is a problem that is solving itself.

How about Tara Reade or all of the really creepy pictures/videos of Good Ole Joe pawing minor girls? And we are now told that of course there will be a new tone to press conferences involving Joe and his minder Dr. Jill since there will be no need to fact check them.

Anybody looking for Leftist MSM media to put a "Breaking News" tagline on anything James O'Keefe reports is dreaming. That will never happen.
Our side just needs to focus on building alternative news organizations of our own. People will come. Many people watching MSM understand that they are being spoon-fed what the Leftist establishment wants them to hear and will flock to an alternative if provided one.
Now many of us already do that but it does take a little bit of work. It takes more than turning on the TV and switching channels on the remote. You would ideally cut your cable, get a Roku box (or equivalent), and subscribe to streaming content on outlets like OANN; RSNB, etc.
Most people aren't like us. Their eyes glaze over when you start talking about "streaming" and "Roku boxes" and such. Also sadly, many don't want to consider cutting their cable because they are addicted to it.
Exactly! Every time our side has a “bombshell”, the left already has the narrative out: “nothing to see; move along”. And of course the story is totally ignored by the media anyway.
mewzilla, I get exactly what you mean, but I am referring to the multiplication done by people who talk to and influence others using the Enemedia as the trusted source (and those people talking may be considered an extension of the Enemedia) and I think there is a lot of that.
Unfortunately, even conservatives can unwittingly be an extension of the Enemedia if they accept anything at all from them)
And believe me, I WANT to feel better.
