Why can't we, the disenfranchised voter, join the Texas and multi state class action lawsuit? Surely, we have the same right to do this.
“Biden will think they’re all there for his inauguration, if that happens.”
Worst yet, He would think he is at Obama Inauguration.
Good point.
Wow, my representatives are actually representing me for a change.
95% of Americans can not find Taiwan in a map. Why would they care if Chinese people from one country take over Chinese people from another country? 99% of Americans do not personally known any one from Taiwan.
The average American voter is a low information voter.
The reason individuals (including even the President) can’t petition the Supreme Court directly is because they must enter the legal system at the bottom of the legal food chair to avoid overwhelming the resources of the SCOTUS. This means it has to go through district and appeals courts first. States are recognized in the Constitution and can petition directly to the SCOTUS.
Voters could say - Our votes for the electoral college were stolen. Any state which is being challenged could have the voters those states say our votes for the electors we wanted were stolen by the illegal change of rules to pick said electors.
ONce China attacks Taiwan, which they will do as soon as Biden is in office, everybody in the US will know the names of these islands.
It will not be a cake walk. Millions of people on both sides may die.
Nah.. Americans are busy right now. It is football season ya know!
>> There are no Presidential elections in the Constitution, therefore, there is no Federal Constitutional right to vote for President.
May I direct your attention to the 14th Amendment of the U.S. Constitution, section 2.
“But when the right to vote at any election for the choice of electors for President and Vice President of the United States, Representatives in Congress, the executive and judicial officers of a state, or the members of the legislature thereof, is denied to any of the male inhabitants of such state, being twenty-one years of age, and citizens of the United States, or in any way abridged, except for participation in rebellion, or other crime, the basis of representation therein shall be reduced in the proportion which the number of such male citizens shall bear to the whole number of male citizens twenty-one years of age in such state.”
We absolutely have the right to vote for the electors enshrined in the Constitution, and the citizens of Georgia, Wisconsin, Michigan, and Pennsylvania were disenfranchised of that right by the massive amount of fraud and the State’s refusal to follow the election law.
They will not take a case like this directly.

That sounds like word games. Using that logic one could hurt all citizens with their unconstitutional and illegal behavior so as the harm becomes ordinary and the ordinary citizen looses their standing.
Nope.
All US citizens have a stake in this outcome
More "no standing" games.
The electors represent the people. The people have standing.
The only problem with an individual given standing, is that no election would EVER get decided timely. There’d be lawsuits line up from here to the moon, and BACK!
Don’t bother it failed
I’ve never been this depressed in my life.
Trump should NEVER concede. Leave office and let the whole bunch take it over, but make it clear, you never conceded and you will always contend that the election was rigged, and Biden was not legitimate.
Don’t be discouraged - the enemy shows us his flank! On the issue of voters in purple states (PA here), I see no reason we can’t be amici. We are the ones directly hosed by our governors and other officials’ assuming authority beyond their statutory mandates. Legally the only advantage Texas et. al. had over us as plaintiffs lay in the fact that their suit, constitutionally, went straight to SCOTUS without passing GO. But their arguments are precisely our arguments!
I said, “The enemy exposes his flank,” which is a quote of a French army officer defending Paris who realized that he was in a position to make a telling attack against Germans maneuvering to surround Paris. And indeed, “the media” is in the process of giving your Republican legislators, and mine, a golden opportunity. I refer to the fact that “the media” are in the process of laying out the Hunter Biden scandal which they successfully bottled up during the campaign.
Suppose that SCOTUS does what seems like the only legal thing it can do now that it has accepted the Texas v. Pennsylvania case. If they follow the law, what can they do but agree that the defendants behaved as scofflaws - and mandate that the respective state legislatures must redo the selection of Electors? No governor would have standing to prevent the legislatures from sitting.
OK. The (Republican) state legislatures have two possible options:
IMHO option 1 is workable, and the odds against Biden would be a quadrillion to one (actually a little less, considering that Trump needs to win multiple defendant states. Big whoop).
- They can order a redo of the election (or only the controversial part thereof), or
- They can directly name the Electors.
But the media’s preparing the way for Harris to take over from Biden by airing out the Hunter Biden scandal opens the door wide open to option 2. The great objection to option 2 is “overriding the will of the voters.” But now the legislators have the perfect out:
“We are shocked - shocked! to learn that the Democrat candidate for POTUS to which our Electors are pledged has been very credibly charged with being on the take from Communist China! The electorate had no idea of this when many of them voted for that reprobate! Seeing that SCOTUS mandates that we take responsibility for the naming of our state’s Electors, it is impossible that we should retain the appointment (as the Constitution puts it) of Electors pledged to the reprobate Biden/Harris ticket.Note that the Electors they pick need not necessarily be for Trump; the legislators could cop out by naming electors committed to anyone other than Biden. Could even be another Democrat - even Harris for POTUS. Or Bernie Sanders. That would leave the actual election of Trump to the Congress, voting one vote per state delegation (27R, 21D, 2 tied). But to protect control of the Senate they re-elect Pence VP without fail.We therefore name a slate of Electors who will vote for someone else.
not to mention blue state diaspora
Maybe the Electors have standing, since they are directly harmed by fellow Electors who were unconstitutionally appointed.

You’re right in a general sense. But that’s not the way the law works.
T post, analysis, education per usual. BTTT
So a good friend of mine was one of the poll watchers in Detroit who was prevented from exercising his duty. Does he have standing?
I noted that as a PA Trump voter I was disenfranchised by the governor’s shenanigans, and as such I had a right to join Texas’ lawsuit. But Pennsylvania House Leaders File Brief to Support Texas in Supreme Court Lawsuit Against Pennsylvania it looks like our state legislature is actually on the case! Effectively, on my behalf.
Consider writing your own State Representative!
