My father, who is 79, was not doing well for the last few weeks. For the past two weeks he has been unable to walk and we installed a hospital bed downstairs and he is receiving care at home but it does not look good. He sometimes gets confused and for 2-3 days now he is not eating and not drinking a lot. The doctors do not think he will live long (the give him a few days so I wanted to ask for your help in praying for his health.
I refuse to give him up and although he knows he will die soon, he has some fight still left in him. But like I said it looks really bad. There is little the medics can do at this point so I just hope for the best somehow.
Have him checked for a urinary tract infection. It is very common for UTIs to cause confused thinking. I learned this from my paramedic brother and confirmed by many high school classmates that are nurses.
Happened with my mother about a month ago. Her cognition was horrible, but her mind returned to its normal very good clarity after the UTI was treated.
Yes I will, tomorrow I will ask my boss for some time off to be with my dad and help my mom take care of him.
Thanks! His name is Conrad.
Prayers headed your way.
Sorry to hear about your loss. Dad’s are our heroes, Thanks.
Last week the doctor indeed thought so too so he is on anti-biotics and it helped. He was delerious from the infection but he is better nowbut sometimes he is not at ease and wants to do stuff in his mind but his body does not cooperate.
Yeah that is the hardest thing so I told him how much I appreciated him and that did a lot of good.
Thank you all for the prayers! He is doing a little better for now but he is sometimes in a delerium, he slips in and out of that. He is drinking quite good but and tomorrow we will check if he can eat something.
Thanks. Prayers for Conrad’s strength. And for all,of you.
Have you determined what the issue is?
Is there a diagnosis?

Prayers sent.
I am so sorry. I lost both of my parents a few months apart a couple of years ago.
I pray that God will be merciful and minimize his suffering before welcoming your dad into His kingdom.
Amen.
That was my one salvation of losing them both so closely together. My mother had a heart valve replacement, In recovery she started bleeding and they couldn't stop the bleeding, and she passed, 2 days before Christmas 2000.
My father fell asleep on the coach. After not being able to reach him for a couple of days, we sent the police around for a welfare check, and they found him deceased. This was about 9 months after my mother had passed, and about a week and a half before the 911 attacks by the Muslims in 2001. I was glad that he went peacefully in his sleep, and that he never saw what was coming in less than 2 weeks as well.
If the Lord determines that it is his time to return home, that he have as peaceful an exit from this life into the next life after death.
My praters for you and your family my FRiend. 8>)
May God hold you all in the hollow of his hand.
Jesus I trust in You is my favorite prayer. Pray it often. It will console you.
Prayers up and I hope you can be with him.
Prayers for your father.
