I just listed some of the things Leftists threw at Dubya when he was in office. Oh but it’s Trump who has fostered division you see.....

George HW Bush systematically dismantled Reagan's accomplishments.

George W Bush would dismantle Trumps by proxies and the 'never Trump' movement that he effectively leads.

A pox on the Bush house.

Trump has much higher approval with Republican voters than Dumbya ever did.

And remember how Dumbya treated McCain as well, he wasn’t exactly nice to him.

DITTO

Hillary must have a picture of him with a donkey … or something. What else explains his conduct and his statements?

I honestly hope Trump wins in November in such an indisputed fashion that GWB falls off the wagon and has to spend the next four years reading headlines from a detox facility.

But back then, who was the alternative? Gore and Kerry? The lessor of three evils.

Is this the same Bush-43 who made the biggest foreign policy blunder in US history by invading Iraq?

There was no ISIS, no Al Qaeda, No turmoil in middle east.
Arabs were happy to sell oil and live in luxury. Saddam was keeping Jihadists in control in his prisons.

Then the stupid president Bush-43 decided to bring on the most unstable middle-east.

W will be remembered by history as the conqueror of Baghdad

All because Saddam tried to kill his daddy.

This article isn’t even about George W. Bush - it is about what the author wants Bush to do and is upset that he hasn’t done it.

Kissing Michelle’s (Michael) ass.

The Bushes are scum. How many wounded and killed Americans because that cretin wanted to avenge his corrupt and incompetent father?

He knows American democracy is under threat.

*************

Yes it is, but not from Trump. Rather the threat is from the Deep State, a corrupt media, politically weaponized federal agencies, an untrustworthy judiciary, and far left elements of the Democrat Party.

They said all the same things about Bush they say about Trump - but now they want Bush to speak as a voice of conscience.

Of course all of the responses indicate no one read the article.

Antifa-BLM Democrats are burning down cities and shooting people and the false narrative continues that Trump is dividing the country. What planet am I on?

The Bushes should be uprooted and consigned to the compost heap.

No, that means they’d be fertilizer for a new RINO crop. Uproot them, drench them in Round-Up, and then burn the dried up result.

Why would anybody read an article in The Atlantic? I’m just here for the Bush bashing.

Think about it...THIS is the guy for whom you voted.

Otherwise we'd have had this dope...

More direct and to the point, if Bush lost we'd have had two looney leftists on the court vs Alito and the disappointing but not hard left Roberts. Bluntly, without Alito and Roberts then Heller would likely have been 6-3 against the 2nd Amendment being an individual right.

Yea Dubya is a disappointment on many levels. But the alternatives were worse. Way worse.

I’m not going to revise history to blame him for something that everybody a FR knew wasn’t his fault (and certainly not to exonerate a hypothetical Gore administration) just because he’s a disaster in so many other areas.
