    Respectfully disagree!
The best five horror movies are:
1978s Halloween
1983s Christine
1984s Ghostbusters
1985s Fright Night
1987s The Lost Boys

Ghostbusters is one of my all time favorite movies but its not really horror.

In the Walking Dead there is a group known as the Whisperers, who hide among the dead. This woman is a woke whisperer.

Someone just told me to watch 2,000 Maniacs and from what I have seen it is one of those Mondo Gore fests.

The Descent is pretty freaky, in large part because theoretically-speaking it could be a true story.

Ok, I said Ghostbusters wasnt horror but am now remembering how terrified I was of the librarian ghost as a kid and have withdrawn my objection.

House on Haunted Hill (1959). Scared me more than any other movie.

It's not the movie, it is a review of the movie. I agree with the other commenter - if it's made by Netflix, by definition it sucks. :)

For production value, concept and directing no horror movie comes close to "The Shining."

 1983s Christine
 1984s Ghostbusters
 1985s Fright Night
1987s The Lost Boys Id replace The Lost Boys with Near Dark... a vampire movie that never uses the word vampire in the entire movie.
