Max Planck and the Birth of Quantum Mechanics
SciTechDaily ^ | 13 October 2020 | LUIS OROZCO

In the early evening of Sunday, October 7, 1900 - 120 years ago - Max Planck found the functional form of the curve that we now know as the Planck distribution of black-body radiation. By my account, it was the birthdate of quantum mechanics. [In Comment #1 - a beautiful photo of Planck, Einstein, and Millikan at a dinner party]

It is worth noting that both Max Planck and his son Erwin refused to cooperate with the Nazis. The father was much too famous to be arrested. But the son was arrested and later executed.

Einstein walked the Planck, relatively, walked Planck straight into the Unified Field , while Planck gimped and yelled all the way.

When that paradox is solved we will be able to achieve sustained nuclear fusion.

Gravity sucks.

1931 Berlin. In 2 years Hitler comes to power. “Jewish Science” then goes on the run.

There is no such thing as gravity.

The whole earth sucks.

Suction is a result of gravity. No gravity, no atmospheric pressure.

Germany was at the top of the science field...then they brought Hitler to power and they all left or were killed.

Einstein: Wonder if it was worth leaving the Post Office for even more boring crap; why look at Max, he's half asleep already. Maybe I could liven things up if I did one of my comedy routines?

FWIW: After he moved to the US, Einstein used to walk past my home everyday - in the winter, he wore a long black fur coat and a grey woolen cap. I’d hide in the trees by our property line so I could watch him without disturbing him

The entire physical universe is merely an illusion. Nothing has any meaning except that which you give it.

What has always amazed me about quantum mechanics and inspired me to study it to understand its relationship to our macro scale reality was this fact. The fundament Planck equation, E = hf, where h is Planck’s constant and f is frequency lead to the Schrodinger wave equation which equates all energy in the universe to the time change in the wave function. This means all of our reality is just constant change in a quantum field, nothing is permanent or has an “essence”.

This was the most basic characteristic of the world that was discovered by Buddha 25 centuries ago. Its taken science this long to reach the same conclusion that an ancient sage discovered using only the laboratory of his own mind. Its finding deep truths like this that makes life worth living.

So Heraclitus was right and Parmenides was wrong

That’s actually a good statement for a thread on quantum theory because it’s true and not true at the same time. It’s not true that gravity causes gas pressure. Gas pressure is strictly an electromagnetic interaction, namely the force exerted by particles of gas on anything immersed in the gas. An enclosed container of gas in a zero-g environment would have exactly the same pressure in a gravitational field.

However it’s also true because without gravity the molecules that make up our atmosphere would fly off randomly into space and we would therefore not have an atmosphere. Thus no gravity means no atmospheric pressure.

Why would you say nothing is permanent or has an essence based on that understanding and interpretation of QM? That interpretation contains within itself the actual permanent essence of everything, namely the quantum field. The fact that something is unfamiliar to you and not directly perceived by our senses does not imply impermanence or lack of essence. The same thing could be said of classical physics— a everything is reduced to interactions of atoms. QM says atoms are fluctuations in the quantum field. Why is that any different qualitatively?

The entire physical universe is merely an illusion.

And Who is behind the illusion and why the deception of this illusion and who is the audience? I prefer the "we're in a computer simulation" myself.
