New research into the minds of crows has revealed a jaw-dropping finding: the canny corvids aren't just clever - they also possess a form of consciousness, able to be consciously aware of the world around them in the present. In other words, they have subjective experiences.

That is a 4 out of 5 groaner. XLNT.
30 years ago I moved into my house
Crows were nesting in my Jack pines.
I thought to get myself a baby to raise and kept trying to get up to their spike branch defended nests.
They were ticked off and for 27 years every time I went outside they cursed me to a thousand brutal deaths.
But then Hrafn the Dobe pup came.
(Hrafn means raven and he literally picked his own name)
They played with him from outside the safety of the fence and pushed sticks through the to offer him because they saw it was his favorite toy.
And then they simply stopped screaming at me completely.
If I hadnt actually seen all this Id say I was crazy.
Theyve watched me carefully bury car struck crows too.
They appreciate that kindness and remember it forever.
OWWWWW!....
lol
A big black bird screamed ROTO-ROOTER!!
When I had a small vege garden...I would get a few crows swoop down and watch me work.. My big cat would try and get close to the crow. But the crows would look at the cat in a cockeyed and nonchalant way...they were big crows and with their large beak and claws and mobility...my cat wouldnt bother them.
If a person treats crows well, they will start to bring gifts to that person. Trinkets like pop top from cans and whatever they find that they think is proper.
They also recognize people who are kind to them.

Steady as you go! That might be ol’ Nancy’s signature brand. Old Crow Bourbon.
Um duh. If now we could get Dems as smart as crows.
I believed most animals and birds had concious thought, that is were aware of their surroundings, and acted that way, generally.
Maybe their definition is different than mine.
In your robe???
Yep, huge pockets. Terrycloth. Warm. Can sit out at night for hours. Me, my puppy and Sig.
“When the crows recorded a ‘yes’ response to seeing the visual stimuli, neuronal activity was recorded in the interval between seeing the light and delivering the answer. When the answer was ‘no’, that elevated neuronal activity was not seen. This connection was so reliable that it was possible to predict the crow’s response based on the brain activity.”
How many sentences can your cat say in English, in context???
Well, we do know they dream.
Birds, descended from dinosaurs, may have been the first intelligent life to evolve on our planet.
We may be second, but our hands made us the apex of evolution.
Crows are smart enough to figure out how to use tools
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Explains why I saw a crow at Harbor Freight the other day. No doubt he was getting tools to work on his caw.
(yeah, I know it’s an abuse of the “caw” riff at this point but why not...)
Crows can fly but humans cannot.
Crow wins
“...can also remember specific people,...”
Which is why modern man finally evolved to have a mask.
Science says crows are unusually smart.
Crows don’t wear masks.
Another science settled.
A solid 98% of crows agree scientists are useful tools.
The last one is heavy....but fun to shoot.
I have a Glock 37....that I once in a while carry.
Actually have two of them.....
I prefer the lighter gun's....if I'm walking around...
Depends on where I'm going...and doing.
