Hard to believe the companies “fired” him. “Lost his jobs” could mean that he can’t work right now. Or maybe he was a temp worker. Nowadays, many of these jobs are staffed with workers from temp agencies.

Then you put him in the warehouse, or the tool crib, make him the safety officer, head floor sweeper, good men deserve to remained on the payroll.

Call me an asshole. They're cashing in on the GoFundMe graft. They've seen other people rake in hundreds of thousands of dollars doing this and decided to strike while the iron is hot.
Can't say I blame them. I don't.

Thank you for that.
I would say it looks like the upper left is the exit hole because it flares out, but this helps.

The difference is that the company should tell him he can get the job back or something like it when he heals up.

Yeah, guess so.
This guy is protecting his kids, not in a hypothetical car wreck. Any company should be wanting that kind of employee, even if they don’t offer him benefits. Welcome him back when he is able to return. Not “ he can’t work...let him go...”.

Every once in awhile you get a true American that just wants to go to work and come home to his family. This guy protecting his kids is being a good father. He maybe trying to scam the system, however, I have faith in my fellow man. If he is scamming the system then one day he will have to face judgement. And with the way this year is going I don't think we'll have to wait long😁

"I would understand if the injury prevented him from doing his job."

Lots of low end jobs dont come with benefits. Actually he has FMLA no matter what his job is if he is a full time employee. It is a federal thing. Unless he has spend more then 12 weeks off the job OR if he was on the job less then a year he is protected.
He does not get paid (obviously!) but as long as he can pay his share his benefits keep going.
Now there is a caveat, he must file for it. His payroll and benefits person should be able to walk him through the process.

I think he and perhaps those around him saw a window with which he could capitalize on the media coverage and create a GoFundMe account. Can't say I blame him. These opportunities don't come around often.

Hey I agree, in a just world his employer would keep him on the payroll and he would have insurance. He would have to beg to get by🤗
