The hero Bronx dad who was wounded as he shielded his three small children from gunfire at a Bronx car dealership this week lost his jobs because of the injury according to a fundraising page that surpassed $100,000 on Friday.
Anthony Jefferson, 39, visited the used-car business on Boston Road in Eastchester around 7:30 p.m. Monday to look for a car to surprise the mother of his kids, Danica Jefferson, on her upcoming birthday.
Instead of leaving with a car, Jefferson found himself in the midst of a shootout and was shot himself as he covered his children with his body to protect them from the bullets.

It seems today the more innocent and the more noble you are the more you are punished whilst those scumbags breaking the laws are allowed to walk free
yep the world is upside down, or at least this country is with all these weirdos, whack jobs and perverts telling us that their morals count whilst traditional American morals do not.
It was going to surprise the mother of his kids with a car. He sounds like a brave and a good man.
I would chip in a few bucks for a wedding :-)
I pray that they make it through these difficult times and things get better for him and the mother and the children
From the photo the guy is a hero.
I wont say what everyone is thinking...just will say that those boys to be out hanging with their father...is a very rare thing in todays world...and its good to see. Good for him and thank God that they’re alright.
The companies that fired him are a-holes.
What is the meaning of the Timberland boot photo?
I don’t get it either.
It is not clear that he was fired. Maybe he simply couldn't do the work anymore because of his injuries.
The article did not say he was fired. He's hospitalized and unable to perform his jobs as a maintenance worker and construction worker.......
20 Woe to those who call evil good
and good evil,
who put darkness for light
and light for darkness,
who put bitter for sweet
and sweet for bitter.
21 Woe to those who are wise in their own eyes and clever in their own sight.
22 Woe to those who are heroes at drinking wine and champions at mixing drinks,
23 who acquit the guilty for a bribe,
but deny justice to the innocent.
Ive been on FreeRepublic a long time and remember the days when people read the article before commenting.
lost his jobs because of the injury
I assume that means he was let go/fired/furloughed/ told he was not wanted.
Maybe I am wrong.
They have an appointment with the God of the universe. They best not be late.
(hypothetical ) I let go the guy who mows my lawn because he was in a car wreck and couldnt do the job any more. Local paper says Im racist for firing a black man. The public is being expertly played by the media, I thought Id meet some smarter and better people on FR, Im sorry I was wrong.
